@@tutie I once picked up a load from Caterpillar and they loaded it all in the center like this. I remember making a swift right turn inside a truck stop. Well the load shifted all to the left. I was going down the highway and noticed my trailer was leaning more towards the left. So I stopped to investigate and discovered the load shifted. I had to rent a pallet Jack to move the pallets. Couple of things you might want to add and thats a crowbar so it will be easy to take out nails from floor. Also a bolt cutter for when you get bolt seals. Many of times PU a GP trailer and nails were still in floor and if your pu paper rolls the nails will have to be out of floor. I also carried a flat jaw vise grips so if heads from nails popped off could still use crowbar to pop them out.
@OoohUSuk Жыл бұрын
If you’re not an owner operator do you have to buy all those with your own money? Why aren’t they provided?
@rebeltrucker Жыл бұрын
@@OoohUSuk I guess the best way is to compare to a plumber or mechanic. Tools to do your job. I was an O/O with GP so I did buy them. But I was a company driver with JB and had them too. Some places have a bolt cutter but it might take 10 min to get it plus its been used so often its dull. I just found it easier because there are places that do not have one so then what do you do? Use to carry a claw hammer but that did not have the leverage since your pulling the nails out of hard wood, the crowbar is better.

The one you picked up the load you had to nail boards down explains why some trailers I've had to load I had to take loose nails out. Our product is on pretty cheesy wood pallets and the slighted nail/screw protruding up from the floor destroys them lol. I've gotten good inspecting trailers before loading though, walk in is looking at the ceiling and walls, walk out is looking at the floor for any problems. Keep truckin my guy, might be joining the force in a year or 2.
