When I am driving for a. Company my company problems are their problems.
@antonivanov2585
@antonivanov2585 3 жыл бұрын
Being a company driver sucks just about everywhere bro. So going to different companies is waste of time, staying in one and building , and becoming your own boss one day, or taking one of the office positions for 2k a week is better than moving companies thinking it would be better somewhere else. They’re all the same .Drivers work for change while the owners make millions every year which is sad, but that’s how the world has been set up.
@timtravels116
@timtravels116 3 жыл бұрын
Most drivers, including me, increase their income by moving. At most companies “building” takes years. It would’ve taken me years at Knight to get to 60+ cents a mile, which I got done in a little over a year. Also, I seriously doubt very few in-house people at trucking companies are making 2k a week.
@antonivanov2585
@antonivanov2585 3 жыл бұрын
@@timtravels116 I absolutely agree, but that’s mega carriers. Midsize to a small carrier pays .60+ a mile. That’s what I’m at right now but I’ve never been with the mega carriers. I’ll stay here at the moms and pop’s carrier where I started 3 years ago at .43 and now at .65 & forgot to mention our driver managers make that in office with off weekends the 2k

You don't have to move over or slow down for just any vehicle on the shoulder, just emergency vehicles, which are police, fire trucks, ambulances, wreckers, and highway workers in most states. In July TN changed their law and you have to move over or slow down for any vehicle on the shoulder with flashing lights.
@timtravels116
@timtravels116 10 ай бұрын
In many states including Ohio and Maryland you have to slow or move over for any vehicle with flashing lights. Also, not moving over for a semi on the side of the road is stupid considering that hitting one squarely even in another semi is a death sentence.

Just signed on been a year process to get my experience and DAC together. Love it! I will say they prefer you doing your reset over the weekend for company drivers and they want you to cover at a minimal 2500miles per week. So far everyone really seems to be playing their position. That's how you win, that's how you make champions.
@timtravels116

Once I told my DM I didn’t want to do any 34 hr resets on the road. One time I do a dispatch on a Friday that only went 800 miles for delivery on Monday. I expressed my displeasure and they added 500 miles to the trip.

Thx Tim,I'm wanting to come to GP.. I've been with another company for a little over 7 years but took a leave of absence to go to the Philippines. I've decided to not go back to my company bc of the lack of appreciation and loyalty they have given me in the last couple of years. I feel it's just time for a change and I think GP might be that good change. I'll be coming back to the US in late May. Be safe on the road budd. I really appreciate the insight

Worse carrier I’ve ever worked for. Mandatory 11/14 used daily. Mandatory 34 break every week. Edited logs without your consent. All while I had Covid. Then fired me without telling me. Brought me to yard and I live near Houston Tx. $200 given to get me home. 😳. I was going to quit and asked to get a load home to clean out the truck. They were sneaky about it. Dishonest and illegal practices at GP.
@timtravels116
@timtravels116 2 жыл бұрын
Why you telling me? If you got a case then sue them. I never once took a 34 on the road if I didn’t need it. I once got one because I couldn’t deliver on Labor Day. But I mentioned it and they paid me $250 for sitting. And why are you surprised that they wanted their truck at their yard. Why should they give you a load home for your convenience so you can then quit on them. You’re just pissed you couldn’t get over on them. BTW, when they edit your logs, you still have to accept the changes. If you didn’t agree then you could have declined.

I'll just say to the comment from the guy saying you have to accept I guess you dont know federal law nobody except you has a right to touch and change your logs And if they got him a load to get his stuff they should have let him unload his stuff and bring truck back I also worked for gp They do have alot of good and bad I worked for an owner OP So it was a little different
