with his early bursts, in the first rounds it looked like mike could possibly catch him. But being 58 makes for the obvious result of slowing down fast.

Bro. Mike had 20 seconds of effort then was done. Jake then spared him by sparring. How people didn't expect that is puzzling. Almost as puzzling as pro fighters giving him shine. Its ok, people get old. They can still do stuff but compete at high levels? Come on man.
@LiamWhitАй бұрын
It was set up from the get go, it's money and business. 2 friends making a boat load, I expected it to be just a sparring session. On there part , real smart. Who wouldn't for that money?
@Harry-the-HatАй бұрын
Win for everyone. Mike made a bag, Jake pulled back when he saw Mike slowing down so as to not do any serious damage. This was always going to be the fight. If you thought anything different, you're simply not living in reality.
@BMO_CreativeАй бұрын
If Tyson had won, they both would be legends! Because the obvious happened, people are only gonna remember Tyson fought a younger man and lost... Any pro boxer Jake's age could have done this in their weight class... sad.

@patricknez7258Ай бұрын
I agree I was impressed with Mike. He's a beast and clearly trained very hard for this imo. I felt both guys landed some good punches, and I was fine with it going to decision. I feel this was best outcome that seemed likely to me
@waynzignordicsАй бұрын
It was what I expected from Tyson except how quickly and thoroughly his legs went. Judging from his Roy Jones Jr fight, I expected his legs would be good for at least six rounds, but they were gone after one. And since Jake Paul was scared to get hit and stayed at distance, there was no way for Tyson to get close enough to land his shots. Fighters need to be held accountable for their predictions: Paul said he was going to knock Tyson out and maybe even kill him, and then he spent the entire fight staying at distance instead of attacking.

Mike Tyson deserves that big payout. People bagging out Jake to, there good friends and Jake helped make Tyson over 40mil and made sure not to injure his friend. Its a win win for both, insanely smart business

I'm wondering who could Tyson possibly beat at this age and in his current deteriorated state if he decides to keep fighting. How about Holyfield? Maybe Tyson could fight him in a third fight as an exhibition? Make it a 3 rounder.

The fact is that Jake Paul took it easy on him in the end, which demonstrates he's not a piece of shit person Jake Paul could have easily ko'd him round 3 onwards but choose not to because there was no point he had the win secured and didn't want to risk doing excessive damage to Mike.

Mike did better than I expected as well. I was glad he didn't get knocked out. Honestly though, I don't hate Jake with these fights because the fighters still take them and people still watch. I do hate the parts of the combat sports community that never learn though and go "Mike is gonna destroy him" or act like it's rigged after Mike loses. Edit: Also Jake definitely tried to KO Mike in the first couple of rounds. He loads up a lot on some shots, especially early on.

@@hudsonumi I think he tried to KO him early on but when he realized how wobbly Tyson was he let up and chilled to a decision.
@Juel92Ай бұрын
@@triancirc Yeah when he started wobbling is when Jake decided not to KO. Looked so sad so I think he decided to chill from that point on. But look at the hook he throws in the first (I think) for instance. He loaded that full and had it not glanced it would have done some damage.

Everybody is talking about how boring the fight was, money grab this or that, I honestly just think Mike did the fight to test himself like he said. I don’t know why people were expecting Mike to be as explosive as he once was. What matters is that he gave his best. If you’re unhappy with his best, when you’re 58 years old I’d like you to see you take a match in a combat sport.
@richardbeaudry2525Ай бұрын
In a sense, I don't think people yet quite grabbed what they witnessed. A 30 year age gap between two professional athletes. That it didn't end in the first 30 seconds in favor of Jake is kind of huge. That Tyson at his age was actually able to look good in the opening rounds and go the distance is a feat. Any other boxer (and we saw Holyfield try the same a while ago and it was much shorter) would never have been able to. This fight should never have been allowed as a pro bout. It's actually crazy it ended this way. There's no way an actual champion would ever fight an up and coming boxer without him having decent fights with journeymen his own skill level first. Yet Jake is likely going to fight an actual champ next. Might even do decently before getting knocked out. I think this match, as boring as it was, is a feat that will go down in the history books. Only thing I think sucks is that Tyson's final adversary wasn't, yet, anywhere near the level he was at at one point.
