Why in taekwondo sparring and Championships fighters dont have a high guard and dont do hard blocks against kicks?

Tanto jutsu because I think this is more of mma you have to guard against punches to the face too so u already have your hands closer to your head maybe

Alex good morning. You are a great influencer and i like your videos. However at mark 0.09 you said you need to get used to get hit in the head. Please do not advise that to you or your followers you can't condition your brain for trauma.....
@ashly18315 жыл бұрын
I think alex said wear your head gear and do a control head shot but its true though brain trauma is bad
@MartialArtsTutorialsFighttips5 жыл бұрын
@@ashly1831 it wont help. You can't condition your brain. People have died for advises like this. The best thing she said is you have to look at the strike so you can defend it. But the advise she is giving will get people hurt or worse. Please do research on it.. thanks

Getting used to being hit in the head doesnt mean conditioning it means getting over the fear and panick of getting hit. There are big fighting instructors that recommend getting hit lightly (almost like a touch) in the head to get used to this. This is not a new idea.

@@MyLove-ym8en what instructor recommend getting hit in the head by kicks??
@keithhorton49905 жыл бұрын
Would highly recommend to use the *opposite* arm/hand to block a head shot - not lifting the arm on the same side. That just opens up that side to be hit :(

It's very impressive to be able to kick at head height but it's not a good idea on anyone that has any kind of training I've been doing jujutsu since my early teens and in every sparring match that someone's tried to kick me that high it's ended with them in a pin. My teacher never used to hold back on me, kicking like that needs you to be standing in a certain way and to be balancing on a point which is the worst thing you can do in a fight. High kicks are to finish an opponent, in every martial arts system I've seen and sparred with they're followups to catch you off guard just like a thrust with a sword, meant to end the fight but telegraphed and risking your centre of balance. Only one person's every kicked me in the head, my uncle who's an olympic 4th dan black belt in karate

The brain 🧠 is suspended in CSF( cerebro-spinal fluid) any sudden move makes your brain to bounce back and forth in that water like fluid. A kick to the head wearing head protection can still be very damaging even lethal to the subject receiving it. Taking kick to the head is not at any point in training a good idea. Strokes, Subdural hematomas and Ischemia can have delayed symptoms up to three days from the day you receive the trauma. Please do not advice this type of trainings. You might be harming your younger audience and fans who imitate you sometimes literally.
@RDraGon21795 жыл бұрын
She did say controlled head kicks. Beginners should work on a high guard with foot movement to help keep them safe. Also, I would suggest only round kicks because beginners usually won't have any hip power.
@lenofsparta73935 жыл бұрын
Tony Wallace again you seem to have some knowledge. But I specified at the end of my comment that she should not advice or at least put a disclaimer because some people out there take things literally.

Lady, How about blocking a circular kick to your face with your hand? Please don't tell me they'll brake my hand. That's the way we block circular kicks to the face, in combat, kumite or whatever you call it.
