I was just messing with you guys. The sound is that of a Pratt & Whitney aircraft engine, recorded when a neighbor fired up his Stearman biplane.

Timing? If this is the first startup... the static timing should be set before running it, and then once it's running it should be immediately checked with a timing light. I didn't see anyone do that in the video.
