Excellent Video as always. Just one question, where is the Esprit Update?
@TimsEnthusiastGarage
@TimsEnthusiastGarage 10 ай бұрын
I get this question several times a week. I have 20k in parts in three different locations and if I am honest, not a ton of interest in it. There will be an update soon but that update will leave you wanting another update. Right now it’s very much in limbo

I really enjoyed this one a lot, great job. Those canyon roads are second to none, I KNOW you had a great time in that exceptionally rare, beautiful car!

Great video on a beautiful car. I’ve watched your gransport video over 20 times I’m sure. Convinced me to pull the plug on the beautiful one I now own. Thx again.

As usual, another tremendous review. Love the way you’re able to convey characteristics of cars. Not to mention, you seem to gravitate to the oddballs. Regarding how sensitive the world seems to be. I feel things are starting to take a turn in the opposite direction. Everyone is sick of walking on eggshells, and at times not speaking the actual truth. It’s been a weird past few years

Well said, it has been a bizarre few years. I sincerely hope we are on the road to not agreeing on everything, but moving forward as a family of brothers and sisters. There for a while it almost seemed like there was no way back. I think we are getting there. Thanks so much for watching !

As I finished the edit and was listening back to it, I got to the point in the video where I was talking kind of seriously about my friend and during this the car is making so many glorious noises. I’m not sure how I stayed focused 🤣🤣 it is so good. I didn’t really mention it in the video but even with, say, a Ferrari 360 or F430 they don’t sound this good until you rip the cats off and fit an aftermarket exhaust. This thing is bone stock with primary and secondary cats. It sounds INCREDIBLE.

by its spec this car is very special, it has almost a Gransport coupe wheelbase engine from the GT S plus perfectly tuned exhaust which is one of the most special one ever created (prett interesting will be to compare it in real life with QP GTS) and most importantly its the lightest one from all of the coupes model - its almost 100KG lighter than the Gransport and its 300 KG lighter than Granturismo plus if you say its more damped that GS in sport mode it should be quite a gold solution betwen GT and sportscar plus all these critique it gets can be fixed via fresher newer tires and some camber adjustment - need to drive it properly cause i seat in like 5 different of them but never drove one, and finally it has very special beatifully crafted interior. PS Tim find a AM V8 just simple one manual and compare it with GS - i owned GS and owning now a AMV8 - it will be quite interesting comparison ;)

Thanks for watching! My mate has a AMv8 and we have talked about doing something in the spring. I prefer the Quattroporte to the GranTurismo . The GT feels almost as big as the QP and it’s just never as good as the GS. The GS is the sweet spot if you can’t afford an 8C (which I certainly can’t at this point 🤣) . I didn’t mention it in the video but the carbon fiber body really moves the center of gravity lower and the attitude of the car on transition from side to side is absolutely exceptional and more akin to an F430 .

this Alfa has the paddle shifters and interior door latches of the Ferrari's from 2004-2010--maybe even similar transmission? Your friend ventured out of his lane, that's on him, end stop.

My friend, just like you, had an opinion. In my opinion he paid too high a price for someone taking small transgressions and making them massive affronts. It is, however an opinion. The 550, 456 GranSport, 4200 and 8c share many parts. Steering wheels, paddles (different on the 612 and later cars) but there was a lot of family sharing. F430 also uses the same hydraulics for clutch , lots of parts interchange. Thanks for watching and for your opinion, I do appreciate it

@@sarahdell4042 one of the things that really spurred me to make this: 2 years ago I was at SEMA, talking with a bunch of people in the industry and generally in the know. Not a single person knew what happened. I showed them the posts that Jalopnik and later Bloomberg publicized, while most didn’t agree with him on the posts not a single person felt like it should have been the witch hunt that it turned into. It really was unfortunate. Thanks for watching !!

I know you’re trying to support your friend, but his comments were very wrong and hurtful to many!
@TimsEnthusiastGarage
@TimsEnthusiastGarage 10 ай бұрын
I’m sure he may have said things that some found unsavory but they came from a place of genuine concern. That context doesn’t exist in most people’s online statements. That it was formed into a hit piece and used to essentially run him out of business is beyond bounds and hurtful not in theory but in practice and application. He is a good man, an immigrant, not white and a huge proponent of the American dream. The comments framed in the Bloomberg article and screen grabbed here are both comments I have spoken to him on and genuine concern for communities of less privilege were his deep concern. I’m not here to validate an opinion. He is free to it. You are free to yours. The headline “Petrolicious Founder Appears To Say Some Dumb Racist Sh*t Online So Now You Can Stop Pretending To Like Their Videos” is uneducated, directly defamatory and insinuates the videos aren’t actually good. I take issue with all of that and I think it’s horrible a man who built something beautiful had it torn down. What would have been the human and brotherly thing to do would have been for Jason to reach out to Afshin directly and have a conversation. Perhaps both their points of view could have been refined.

@@TimsEnthusiastGarage I agree that the headline writers at Bloomberg and Jalopnik blew it out of proportion - after all, they are aiming for click bait! However, as an immigrant, and a person of colour, who has to fight very hard to get jobs and earn a decent living in North America, Afshin’s comments hurt extremely badly. For him to label the BLM movement (which fights very hard for justice and equality for minorities) as domestic terrorists - was for me a gut punch 🤛🏼 I loved what Petrolicious had done and would have done, but I felt betrayed! I could no longer support a platform whose leader had such views!
@TimsEnthusiastGarage
@TimsEnthusiastGarage 10 ай бұрын
@@automotiveaffairsshorts BLM has seemed to look out most for the interest of BLM and what they were doing at that time did involve violence and burning down stores and such. I support you, I support your American dream. I’m not a huge fan of “movements” in general and, let’s face it, I’m white so maybe I didn’t read it the same. I will say that coming up very poor (single parent no meaningful income) I have known what it means to be marginalized and written off. In this country we are very narrow site line. We support one group and demonize another. Poverty affects many in this country who are still very marginalized. I would like to see us lift each other up and I do wish positivity would be more apart of the movements. I wish we didn’t bounce from war to war. Afshin immigrated here very young and dealt with adversity. He left a country that was ravaged by civil war. You said it , click bait. Everyone wants views and everyone ultimate is very concerned about themselves and how they appear, they all want the moral high ground. I want us to meet in the middle and raise each other up. All of us. Much love man. Appreciate the dialogue
