I guess because you're looking for the wrong Alfa period, go see the cars they made before '70s: 33 stradale, montreal, giulia gta, giulietta spider, giulia ss, giulia tz1 and tz2, alfetta gtv6, disco volante, 6c 2300 berlinetta touring, 8c 2300 and 2900 berlinetta. That were the real Alfa Romeo, before they opened the Pomigliano D'arco factory and before they were bought by fiat. 156, 147, gtv and gt are all alfiat as we call them here in italy, no more alfa soul.

They don't break if you do the service and treat them well this engine is a beast it's very reliable change timing belt when it has to be changed and it won't break

I had a 2011 G37 with the typical VQ engine which needed replacement because Nissan was using poor quality gaskets causing low oil pressure; also the timing was off by the time odometer read 86,000mi which lead to the car getting stuck in limp mode one day and then deciding to work the next. Bipolar described it best. On the other hand, there're people driving G37/370Z's with over 150k miles and still running good. It all comes down to maintenance I only had the car for the last 30K miles before selling it short.

when recording stationary at an underpass...I found that stopping just past it with the exhaust firing 'into' the underpass...the mic being fully past it...gives a slightly different yet still impressive sound.

I have owned a GT for 5 years and 70.000km and I only had 1 thing happen that was not inside the normal service period the car is quite reliable if you treat it properly and look after it.

I don't disagree at all that most of these cars get a bad reputation by owners who bought them at their bottom prices and neglect to do basic maintenance. Thats good to hear actually. I never had the chance to drive more than one black market "import" car which was not a manual and it was a glorious sound but felt very off, maybe it was a converter/valve body or something and not the Busso at all. The owner was the one complaining and stating otherwise.

@@chrisback79 idk, I have 1.9jdt, but with eibach coils / bilstein b6 shocks ( sportiva kit, lowered +-30mm), 2 deg camber, 225 tyres + 10mm spacers in the back. Handles very good. Sometimes g forces could make me a bit dizzy, but car doesn't skid if I don't send it.

Busso is reliable but you have to service it and never push it when it is cold, it is made in aluminium so be careful in case of overheating
