This is by far the best way to access the plug, but unplugging the two plugs was a BI#$#!🤬 . But once unplugged was super easy, major thanks for the video 👍

This is great to know. It’s unfortunate that Alfa hasn’t recalled these models and resolved these issues. Until then, their brand reputation suffers.

Great thinking. I would have never thought about going this way. Man and I have fought with it three times, and and at the end, I have just ripped it out at the end, after removing one screw. I couldn't remove the other two, or reach the two plugs. Used the extensions though, now it is behind the sunglasses compartment.

How do you know which one to pull out when you reached your hand behind the steering wheel? Thanks

Seriously guys, I don't understand the difficulty. This video - which I thank you for sharing, just made me waste time and disassemble too many things on my stelvio. read the fucking manual!!!! The manufacturer explains it step by step. In any case, I give you my experience: - removes the glasses holder - 1 screw - unscrew the radio unit - gray metal case and pull it downwards - screws - from now on, you can even reach it with both hands!!!! I'm 1.80m tall! Not comfortable, but perfectly doable! - disconnect the negative on the battery - with your left hand, you can reach the SGW. - with some tact, you can feel the plug clip and remove the two SGW cables. - they pull the cables and they are exactly at the same point where this partner showed in the video. Is it worth dismantling all that to see or feel the SGW slightly? in my opinion no. - if you have the extensions - they are recommended, they are worth every euro - use your left hand to fit them into the SGW. can feel the cuts of the chips, to guide them into the correct position - for wiring extensions - since they are mobile and more difficult to connect, use both hands! the left holds the original plug and the right connects the extension. It's not comfortable but it's workable and like I said, removing the pedometer doesn't help anything here. - with the extensions on the site - buy the biggest ones, they're worth it - you can turn on the Bypass whenever you want. - to close: place the extensions behind the existing radio wiring, coming out close to the clutch pedal. - carefully, lift the wiring and place the radio unit in the bracket - there is a kind of black slide to fit it. - tighten the unit with the two screws that you removed - there are some guide pins and the one on the left side has a plastic bracket that holds the foot cover - put the glasses case back on and you're done! They can turn the bypass on and off whenever they want, with some care near the clutch pedal. three screws!!!!!

How did you do it without removing anything
@JFrogge13 ай бұрын
@@jayjay10283 i just moved steering wheel all the way up. My biggest hurdle was finding how the original sgw snaps were located. It’s all done with fingertips once you figure out the location. I left the new sgw bypass plugged in and thus far, no issues.

Hello, i can't remove the display. The two lower screws are removed, but how to proceed?
@AndysAutowerks Жыл бұрын
After removing the screws, pull on the cluster, it’s clipped in and does take some pressure to remove, I find it easier to quickly yank on it rather than slowly pull using leverage
@norbertvas6661 Жыл бұрын
@@AndysAutowerks It doesn't even move, are you sure it's only held by the 2 lower screws?
@AndysTips Жыл бұрын
@@norbertvas6661 yes, I’m positive, it has two T-25 screws for the bottom, and the top section of the cluster clips in. Here’s another video of someone else explaining it. It’s the same as the gulia kzbin.info/www/bejne/jn-tmYmiq7-YnNE

@@AndysTips sorry to bother you again, but I managed to connect the SGW bypass. What to do afterwards? I did a proxy setup, but something is wrong.
@articleauto Жыл бұрын
This is a great method. If you can show me how to install it with the extensions. I'll buy you the extensions. Lol. Here's a Summary. 1. Take apart the sunglass storage. Use a T-25 bit. (1) screw. 2. Take apart the steering column cover. (2) Screws. 3. Take apart the cluster. (2) Screws. 4. Locate and disconnect the SGW cables and feed to the sunglass compartment. Option to buy SGW bypass extenders for easier access for removal/install.

Step for, at least in my 2020 Stelvio is the most difficult, frustrating and painful. I can reach the module from where the cluster was but have yet to be able to disconnect the cables. What is the best way to do this ??

You skipped over the pain of pulling the cluster out, please show the effort involved in pulling the cluster out after removing the two screws. I spent an hour pulling, prying and tugging on the cluster and it will not move. All the videos on this skip over pulling the cluster out, they show removing the screws, then skip to the cluster out.
