Michael Caine proberly the greatest english actor ever, im sure this was the first film of it's kind where the main character Alfie spoke to the camera.

I thinking that everyone makes a big deal about actors breaking the “fourth wall” as they now call it! I wonder what they called it back then? Likely it didn’t even have a name. I wish I could ask Michael, anyone got his number?

This movie put me right orf Michael Caine when I saw it as a youngster. Never to be enjoyed again until Educating Rita. Love him now ofc :)

Brilliant film, dated, but still pertinent about the knocks which life can deal. I find the character of Humphrey the most touching - not sexy or glamorous, just salt of the earth honesty and good heartedness.

the epitome of nice guys finishing last. He is too nice, hence treated like a doormat by all and sundry all his life.

Interesting how liberation of women in this film is portrayed as contributing to narcissism of men.
