Not probably but it does have the most varieties of vegetarian food in the world because the foods come from 29 states that all is different & unique on their own in India. Also, within the states, you have so many cities that have their own food versions & varieties of vegetarian dishes as well. You may have just tried 0.00001% of the food but you barely scratched the surface of Vegetarian Indian Food.

This is all Indian food. Except that in India the charges are exceptionally high when compared to standards of earning and living conditions. Also the ambience fails in India because of the people behavior. You have to be in a high end restaurant to pay for ambience but end of compromising on food quality and quantity.

South india food u get lot of variety food. Rice rasam, upitu, kesari bathu, vegetable bath, tamarind rice, lemon rice, dosa, idli nd much more. But north indians food just chole bhatura, nan butter chicken, thats it famous there

Spongy idlis made with steamed rice and lentils socked and girded and again fermented overnight and cooked on steamed , healthy food. Again chutney and samber r made with pulses, grains and coconut.

Eating on a banana leaf is good.. when we add hot food into banana leaf, its said that we absorb polyphenols from leaf into food and ultimately into us.. and polyphenols are excellent anti oxidant 😊

The brownish color topping on one idli is made out of a daal - a kind of lentil ground and some red chilli, salt etc added, and the other darkish green one is the curry leaf powder topping.also with some spices. A lot of ghee is also used which adds to the flavor. All Indian vegetarian foods are excellent, no doubt!

I was in Dallas TX a couple weeks ago for three days, and made a trip twice to this place in Irving on successive days with two separate sets of colleagues who work there. The food is epic good, probably the best South Indian restaurant in North America! Thatte Idli is a dish I had back to back on those two trips

12:41 you almost guessed what the dish is. It is indeed a type of idli called 'thatte' idli (thatte means 'plate' in the South Indian language of Kannada, this idli is steamed in a plate, hence the name). The spice thingy you got on top of the idlis is called 'podi'. Podis are powders made of ground lentils and dried red chillies, the powder is mixed with ample ghee and applied to idlis. Idli is a classic South Indian breakfast dish, which is eaten is slightly different ways in different South Indian states, but let's be honest, it's so good, you can eat it any time of the day! :) Really love your videos and your openness to trying all kinds of food. ✨

The IDLI dish that you had is called 'THATTE IDLI'. You were served 03 in numbers one being a plain idli, the second one had layering of KHARA PODI OR GUN POWDER a mild version and a stronger chillier version. This is typical to South of India and not usually available in all the restaurants.
