Hi Watto and Kim. It is delightful to watch you two's determination to complete such challenging hike. I do really enjoy village stroll, especially historical gorgeous church is appealing in a charming village. I am a big fan of the pipe organ. It is EPIC! Perfect weather. The UK's countryside with no obstacles. The golden wheat(?) field stole the show. I agree with you, descending steep hills is tricky. I am very proud of you, two. superb! Excuse my absence due to my hair appointment.

Great look around Alfriston and an epic walk, Watto and Kim. To answer your question, my knees no longer like hills especially going down them. I hope Kim bagged some good shots, especially the wheat field, I could see her clicking in the background.

Hi Watto and Kim this looked like a great hike. We often need to admire the view too! 🤣 It looked a very hilly walk but the village was stunning. That looked a really nice countryside walk watto and Kim 😊 the village church looked so pretty. Loved the big wheat field and the views at the top of the hill. Great drone shots over the man very cool. Hope you both have a great weekend 👍👍

Looks like you picked yourself a beauty of a day! We don't usually have troubles with parking, but many have taking notice of signs that indicate that changes are in the works...probably free is going to be replaced with pay-to-park stations. Pretty amazing church and grounds! Those field views...and especially over your shoulder...are awesome!! Cool, that Long Man was actually on a show that I watched on History Channel I believe...they were highlighting a few such structures. Drinks yes, but an ice cream would be good too! lol Wonderful day out exploring!!

Thanks Bruce. We really enjoyed our visit to what is a new area for us. There a several so called long man structures across the UK. Must visit some more. Lovely area, the Long Man of Wilmington reminded me of 'Marree Man' . In 1998 a pilot flying in the outback in Australia near the remote town of Marree saw that the shape of an indigenous man had been carved into the ground below. Still a mystery as who did it, the area is so remote you could only see it from a small plane, it was a tourist attraction for a while. I'm not sure it's still there as eventually the desert claimed the area back. Whoever did it used heavy machinery and GPS as Marree Man is huge, it's 4.2km from head to toe and nearly 30km in circumference!
@WanderingwithWatto2 ай бұрын
Ah. Very interesting. Sounds huge. Fortunately there are a lot of people that keep these things restored. Makes you wonder about the ancient people who created it. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️

What a beautiful church. Most of our churches here do not have graveyards near the church.
@WanderingwithWatto2 ай бұрын
Hi Jim & Pearl. It is a very big church by usual standards. We always enjoy poking around the graveyards. Gives a feel of the place. We do have cemetery’s here too with no churches attached. But most churches also have a graveyard. Thanks for watching. Hope you have a good week. Best wishes from us both. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️

I paid £8.50 to park yesterday then found a National Trust car park (I am a member) 200 yards away, on the way back :O(. If you are out for a long walk that is the weather to do it in and it it gets too noisy, that church was perfect to cool off and chill out, it looked amazing inside and outside too. You could have done a machete on that walk and never tried Komoot before. A perfect English summers day, we need more like that and more frequently too. No matter how many times I climb a Fell and how often as well, I am always blowing exactly like you too and great footage of the Old man (not you :o). When I am tired I hate going up and down but always worth it when I am at the top and finished in the car with a satisfied tiredness and I would have given those cows a wide berth too! Cheers Alan
@WanderingwithWatto2 ай бұрын
Hi Alan, Thanks for your great comments. Yes we could have definitely done with a machete, I don’t think Kim saw much walking thru that overgrown bit 🤣😂 It was definitely worth the moaning, groaning & huffing & puffing Alan. Yes most definitely a satisfied tiredness once back at the car. Have a fantastic weekend. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️

Superb vid guys AS ALWAYS. Very entertaining, what a superb area. I’m sure that Church(Cathedral) showed up in a Magenta video where she was doing Ian’s back story. I could be wrong, so many familiar parts of that. Descending worse for me, a lot of pressure on the knees and the older I get the more I think I will fall on a descent, extra care needed. Trekking poles definitely help though although if you’re vlogging at the same time it’s hard to wrangle them whilst filming..
@WanderingwithWatto2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your great comments guys, it is indeed a great area to explore. We will have to take a look for that video from Dara, I’m sure you are correct. I must watch that. Yes the descent is always worse 😂 Have a great weekend Nick & Jill your support is always much appreciated 👍🏻🚶♀️😂
