You can really hear the Armenian roots of their music when played on ancient instruments like this. It sounds just as natural in this style as it does when played in it's original way. I could listen to this all day.

This is actually the sound they were going for only electrified and distorted. They were influenced heavily by Armenian folk music which to this day still makes use of many instruments which have been around since medieval times.

This makes me wonder if there were any bards back in the day who just absolutely rocked the fuck out of a tavern somewhere every night, and word never really got out a far enough distance to be recorded in history. It would also be awesome to go back in a time machine and play this in a tavern just to see people's reactions. I envision people buying a lot more drinks and moderately headbanging at their tables.
