From Algiers we salute you ✌️🙌🇩🇿 such a great music and a video ..my grandfather was a fighter against the French colonisation and they tortured him at prison at so many occasions 💔.. so happy that the story of our country and ancestors inspires people around the world ❤️ wish you all the best 🙌✌️🇩🇿🤟🤘❤️

My Father was (he recently passed away unfortunately 😢), 100% Berber Algerian (Berber meaning 100% Native of North Africa/Algerian 0% European or Arab). My Mother is mainly Lithuanian (which is Eastern European close to Russia and also a little German, French, etc...). I have been told by lots of people I look Hispanic (Puerto Rican, Mexican, Brazilian, etc), Samoan (I get that one A LOT! 😂), Hawaiian, Italian and even "mixed" which in North American Urban cities (the ghettos) means half white and half "black" (meaning Sub Saharan West African where the majority of the current "blacks" in North America ancestors were taken and enslaved from in countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Togo, Liberia, etc). So, I'm basically a chameleon (the beautiful "lizard 🦎" like creature that literally changes colors and adapts to it's environment no matter where it is! My skin tone changes throughout the year(s) and seasons, when the weather 🌡️☁️ is ❄️ cold in the Winter months my skin becomes "pale" due to lack of sunlight and I appear more "white" and in the hot Summer months when it's very hot and humid outside I get lots of sunlight 🌞😎 and I tan very easily and become very dark and can almost appear "black" but mainly "Hawaiian/Pacific Islander like". It's awesome! I love what my parents have blessed me with physical wise! Anyways, sorry for my super long post/reply but I love these type of discussions and such. Oh and I have very long hair which is pretty dark in color (a mixture/coloration of black/dark brown and even an orange/"reddish" coloration that is likely from a combination of both my parents genetics and the few times that I've dyed my hair "red" but came out orange from not using bleach dye on my hair and also from the constant sunlight 🌞 I got on my hair every Summer time throughout my life, so it's a very unique (and beautiful) coloration and it's also very long in length (well past my shoulders!) And is very thick/curly/"nappy (ish)" and can change in appearance due to the weather and even time of year! I'm also 6 foot 4 inches tall (the tall height and weight coming from my large sized Mother and relatives on her side of the family!) and depending on the time of year can be anywhere from 240 to 270 pounds! I'm a very tall/big and long haired fellow that can blend in with just about any race which is so awesome in my opinion! Okay, my post/reply is much too long as it is but I LOVE these cool subjects. Much love to you all and enjoy your morning/afternoon and evening/night no matter where you are and when you end up reading this book 📚📖/novel of a post! Hahaha 😂😎™️🏝️💟💕❤️💕🏜️🏝️🤯🔥💯🙉🙊😸♥️🖤💜💙💚💛👀🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹 (Both the Algerian and Lithuanian flags 💯💛💚♥️). Two very different but both beautiful countries and people/cultures! Unity for all!

Yeah I spoke to Franklikn in the merch line when i saw them with Young Fathers. I felt terrible because i could only pay for one shirt and I'd been listening to Young Fathers a bit longer, and I'd gotten into the algiers line on accident XD That said, I told them it was one of the most powerful shows I'd ever seen and i would get their shirt ASAP, and since i was there i couldn't help but ask Lee Tesche about his split-headstock aluminum-neck guitar, apparently its a Frankenstein situation, i think one of the mosrite or eastwood bodies and the neck was from someone known for their metal construction who i forget now. Regardless, i was quite heartened that the question i had asked half-on-accident out of embarrassment was met with a friendly retort from a fellow guitarist. Amazing band and a seemingly great group of people!

Motown is one motive (director´s point). Works like shit for me and I love Motown. To my eyes this is directored shit. "Do motown, with guitars, and some black guys, and.... wait for it... something that will get banned (meaning the music is "dangerous" and kids will flock around it) a nazi symbol". Whoever is in charge of this video is a person to be quickly dismissed. The individuals of the band are likely great performers but the vision of where to go is wrong.

I saw these guys live on Saturday night at the Grog Shop in Cleveland - prefaced by Mourning (a) Black Star and followed by !!! - all great performances and a really smartly curated show. Algiers was incredible - started out with Walk Like a Panther from their new album. They dedicated "Cleveland" to Tamir Rice (God bless that young boy's spirit) and preached a bit about police brutality and oppression. The Underside of Power was a standout song - FJF's vocals are sooooo powerful, and the brotha's got some James Brown/Prince moves on-stage to boot. What impressed me most outside of their noise-rock experiments (!!!) live was their camaraderie - they all were patting each others' backs and checking with each other during all the shows and when i talked to each of them, they made sure to ask my name and thanked me for coming and supporting them. Matt Tong's accent was great, and Ryan Mahan even gave me a hug. These guys are righteous and groovy - i wish i knew them in real life. Go Algiers Go!!!
