This was great! I think there is nothing wrong with the length. It was exciting to watch and you invoked the appropriate emotion at the right time. I could feel the nerves when you were in the storm and I felt cold when you were. Which is what I love about watching the cold weather camping videos. I really enjoyed all of it very much! My only critique is that there are times when the background music is louder than your voice. Don't cover up that great Canadian accent! ☺ Can't wait for part 3!!!

Thank you very much for watching! I'll watch out for volume levels in the next edit. Much appreciated!

I love the video, James 😍. We enjoy paddling in the rain; the rain makes the environment so serene. The only drawback is that it is detrimental to the video quality 😄. We were in a similar situation, reaching Radiant Lake, when we saw a bear. We only got a couple of seconds of video of it because the camera was packed away. I am waiting to see how the journey ends. Cheers ✌️.

Thank you! Rain definitely makes things harder, but also provides a feeling of being more immersed!

Just got done watching part 2. Loved it! I love the instrumentals you picked. I loved your editing, keeping the sound of the paddles on the water and the rain falling. I found it so peaceful and relaxing…watching it from my couch! Love that you think of your fellow campers and also the tips you provide in the video. So glad you were able to see three moose! Never heard a moose so wasn’t sure if that was the moose or you calling but I think you said that was you. It worked! I thought that the length of the video was fine showing all your adventures. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for part 3! Well done!

So glad you decided to continue the series. I hope you continue with KZbin content!! I am really enjoying your channel so far. Thanks for leaving a cache of wood, I try to do the same if at all possible. Would have been nice for you to have some for your second camp in this video! I too did a trip in Michigan’s UP in October and ran into the same conditions. First day paddle was 75F and paddled out at 37F with rain for two straight days. My toes get cold with my poor circulation, will be 70 soon, so not the blood flow I once had. Keep the videos coming and stay safe!!!

@@james_paige_wilderness Thanks to guys like you I got into it but unfortunately after I retired. Bought myself a Hornbeck canoe and gear for retirement and started at 64. Wish I would have done this when I was younger. Enjoy your time in the bush!!!

No, it was not too long. It was perfect, real life in real time!!! I was concerned about the weather and hypothermia and kept thinking there should probably be one of those survival blankets in your gear for those... just in case moments, or maybe those hand and boot warmers, but I'm glad you were ok.

Hi James,love the explainers about equipment, just a suggestion,maybe turn the music down a bit when talking but good job

Absolutely agree with you. Sounded fine on my home setup, but I don't think that translates to everyone else's setup. I'm still learning the ins and outs of the editing process. Thank you for watching and leaving me a respectful constructive criticism.

I think the Moose was saying I'm going to stand here until he makes a move for the big camera.

LOL! There is no other way to interpret the situation! Very aggravating because wildlife pics in the rain are epic!

sorry i only got to watch 2 minutes but your background music is way louder then your voice and i'm not turning it up and down just to hear what your saying very irritating
@james_paige_wilderness11 ай бұрын
This is a reasonable criticism. This is my first attempt at this and I'm still learning. On my setup at home, there is no issue, but I likely have to adapt to consider a more wide array of systems and devices. To my defense, I think I only talk when there is music for a period of a few seconds in the whole video. Thank you for the input.
