dam beaver dam...I'm planning for my 1st Algonquin kayak fishing trip and I'm thinking if I should try Norway Lake as it's a remote lake but seems accessible...just not sure if I will be able to go across the beaver dam :P any recommendation? By the way, great adventure!

Lol dam beaver dams! Norway lake is very accessible. Avoid the beaver dam under the highway bridge by unloading at the side of the road. Bring gear to creek, then drive car to the parking lot for the Spruce boardwalk and walk back to gear at creek. That was the only large beaver dam until Norway (There's several small ones we just paddled over). The other large one was dividing Norway from Fork lake. I don't think you would have any issue getting to Norway lake with the beaver dams the size we paddled through (unless the beavers make them taller!). Norway will be fairly remote, low campsite numbers (2), just be aware the visitor center is on a hill looking over part of the sunday creek. Norway is a great spot to check out, another consideration for kayak fishing could be Rock lake. If you wanted to be alone echo bay and by the dam's are pretty isolated. I found the islands sites on rock lake very nice beside picto bay (Pictograph site). Glad you enjoyed our video. Good luck on your trip! R
