Great review... I purchased the Family box because I liked the having Alhambra and Granada available to merge if I so desire. It comes with the first expansion and I've also purchased this one as well. Thanks for narrowing this down for me!

Hmm, I don't think I like the look of the city gates. Sometimes people think expansions should be "useful" in the game. But good expansions should be about adding an interesting twist to the game. Something interesting in Alhambra, to me, seems to be that you need to balance building a large wall and not hemming yourself in. Does the ability to free yourself from sticky situations with walls not take some of the thought/risk away?
