I love Herod but facts, there are inconsistencies in batches . I bought this and compared them . This one has a different opening, it’s kinda medicinal for a sec then I get a little oud however after two minutes it’s right on point and yes not only does it perform better but at $25 I can spray away without feeling guilty!

I just got my order this morning and I blind bought 3 bottles and omg! It is identical to Herod, and I myself prefer niche quality frags, so this is kind of a shock but not really because I had blind bought a bunch of Lattafa’s last Christmas and they all performed beautifully and so I based my blind buy on the quality of the house and I am glad i bought Hercules, I have it on my hand since 11am and its still performing amazingly; this will get hyped so quick once people wake up and realize the price to quality ratio, the hype train is coming… Realize that the Middle East is a rich country, and they are surrounded by sand, that is why their bottles are so heavy and elegant, and since they are middle eastern, you know the quality is on another lever than designer, middles eastern houses are a stage above designers I find, because of the culture, they seem to take care and pride in the quality.

I just received my Hercules. I wanted it because I love my Herod and I don’t want to finish it up. Will be using Hercules with my other everyday, walking the dog, running errands perfumes. It smells nice but obviously not in the same league as Herod. They do smell quite alike but Herod is sweeter with much more depth. I asked my son to smell them on test strips without any names and he said that Herod has a more defined smell while Hercules smells a little weaker. I agree. But for the price difference Hercules is still a very viable option.

So, here's how I went about it: I have Issey Miyake Nuit d'Issey Pulse of the Night and I love that fragrance... It was a limited edition, so I can't get it anymore... I spent around 40-50$ on it.. I heard it is similar to Herod... I went to a perfume shop to smell Herod and, yes, it is similar to Pulse of the Night, only a little darker (more tobacco forward) and a little bit more airy too (because of the heavy use of ISO-E-Super).. But with Herod being as expensive as it is, I was looking for an alternative as I don't think that Herod is superior to my Issey and Herod here is around 300$ for 125ml... I saw this review on it and I got Hercules for 17$... I was shocked about how good this is... The quality is the same as with Herod (don't care about what any niche snob says) , but the Alhambra is less forward with the tobacco and is a little more woody and powdery compared to the PdM (but that is just splitting hairs) So needless to say I am very pleased! @@chandracox6814 In my case it's the opposite. The OGs were always better than the ME clone. Some much better, and other just a bit better. The clone is never a replacement, but rather is a "save some OG juice by using the cheaper juice for less important occasions" juice. Clones lack the magic one finds in OG of niche companies. The closest clone that I've smelled was Neroli Canvas by Al Haramain, which in the drydown is 99% TF NP, but it lacks the magic factor of the opening.

Hey Sarah, Just picked this up yesterday after waiting forever to buy it. I've been wearing "Alexandria Fragrances - Hafez 1984" sooooo much lately...it's like I'm addicted to Tobacco lately. So I have "Ard al-Zaafaran - Tafakhar" which is a Carlisle clone that I've also been wearing at least twice a week. I HAD to order "Hercules" and get even more tobacco...with that vanilla and cinnamon! Can't wait for this one to arrive on Saturday!

I recently bought Herod from a reputable online fragrance retailer (Escentual in the UK) tried it for 2 days, and returned it. Poor performance,, and the tobacco note was diluted. It was a sweet vanilla Frag. Parfume Parlour do a brilliant clone of Herod, in the spray extract bottles. It's called Warrior for men.

I would say that i really care less about the performance. I just like to smell good like if somebody smells you they will know that you are wearing a quality fragrance. So far with my experience with Lattafa fragrances, they perform veeery good but to me, they smell cheap. When i smell them on other people, they smell cheap. Have both, herod and hercules, they're not the same imo, hercules is like a watered version of spicebomb extreme(Have a decant), anyway I love hercules, it's a good fragrance by itself.

Just purchased this scent and it is a dead ringer for Herod. Why would you drop that coin for Herod when this will do at a fraction of the price, and no one will know but you. Great review by the way and hopefully there are more great scents from this house.

I agree on the notes, and i like the perfume although i do not get the pipe tobacco vibe like i get in pure havane/insurrection wild ii. I feel this one however more mass appealing and more versatile rather than the other 2 where they are more cold season choices.

Herod is great... and yes as far as performance inconsistencies, I was expecting layton exclusif to be a performance bomb but the original layton still holds that title; scent wise, I'd go with exclusif.

I have this one and I tried Herod in Nordstrom. For the price this is a no brainer but it’s far from the quality of Herod. It is also missing something in the middle that mades Herod unique. Still I’m not buying Herod because Samy Andraus Rome it is still better than this one but more linear. When Armaf or Al Haramain starts with a Herod clone that is going to be even better.

I think the Samy Andraus version has not character, but I love the OG too. I'm actually wearing it currently (just left Bloomingdale's and she added that sample to my bag). I'm not denying it's good, but I can't guarantee the performance... Pegasus Exclusif though might come home with me tomorrow

This smells shockingly similar to Van Cleef & Arples Bois Doré, but lasts much longer. I haven't tried Herrod, but I am shocked that nobody has voted in Fragantica that it is similar to VCA Bois Doré seeing as Herrod & Hercules are suppose to be dupes. How nobody else has picked up that being another dupe is really surprising to me! Anyone considering picking up Bois Doré, just get Hercules instead. I love BD, but the performance is somewhat lacking. Hercules is cheaper and outlasts them all : )

I just watched a video from gentscents where one of the bottles from this company disintegrated in his hands lol. Kind of a bummer since Lattafa is known for great bottles. I've also heard conflicting reports about the longevity from this brand. I've got Kismet coming in the mail today so I took the plunge and we'll see what's up. 💯

I saw that gentscents video too. I took a leap of faith and went ahead and bought the frag. It's called The Official Club Intense, and my goodness!!! It's the best Aventus clone I know. Better than club de Nuit. Smooth, unbelievable quality. I wish gentscents had been patient enough to actually review the fragrance because he missed out on something really amazing.

@@GlamFinds 🤣 in this case I'd say that fragrance is worth the recommendation. It's basically the same smell as CDNIM but with a slightly toned down lemon and an overall smooth blend of ingredients that make it smell way above it's price point. The performance and longevity is beyond reproach compared to other clones I've used. If you do decide to give it a try, I'm entirely confident that you will be impressed with it. I bought kismet 3 days ago and it turned out to be a colossal disappointment. Faint, horrible smell. My instincts tell me I got a really bad bottle or batch, because everything I hear reviewers and fellow end users like me say about kismet is definitely incongruent with my own experience with the fragrance.

2 Years late, 1st impression i get Mercedes Benz Club Black but dialed down on the sweet boozy-ish aspect.. 🫤. I get the Bois Dore reference but Hercules has a stronger "tobacco" feel. Meh
