Kiwi in Holland here: Fabian didn't start at 16, he was in one of Dutch rugby's academies from age 12 when he started high school and he started in NL when he was five. Their academy system is very good, given it's a small sport over here. Their U20s made it to the U20 Trophy and the women are in the WXV 3. The men are close to making it to the next WC now rugby Europe gets 4 spots with the 5th team going into the repechage. France U20 prop Lino Julien and USA lock Renger van Eerten (same size as Fabian) also came through the academies here.

The NPC competition seems have more appeal to the fans than super rugby . More afternoon rugby for the fans . The only thing missing was having the All Blacks available . all in all a great competition
@johnsanders54332 ай бұрын
I would have expected the Wellington Lions to be clear favourites, given their strong performance despite a few setbacks due to injuries. However, it seems that the Breakdown team consistently overlooks both the Wellington Lions and the Hurricanes, which is quite surprising. As others have mentioned in previous broadcasts, perhaps the Breakdown could take a few cues from the Aotearoa Rugby Pod, which sets the standard for rugby podcasts and offers a more well-rounded perspective.

The challenge that the Black Ferns face is stiff competition, more games against the Northern hemisphere teams to maintain a consistency of their game & keeping up to date with the rest of the woman's rugby world. This end tour didn't go the way they planned. What was it three loses & one win but they would've learnt alot & no doubt be valuable moving forward towards the World cup. There's pressure & they'll have to grow & learn fast. The Black Ferns next year is got to really count for all players

The English girls aren't giving away a Red card in the next world cup, they've got it wrapped up, purely because they play more often together, which makes them much better.Time to train with schoolboy first XVs to lift the tempo and power game

Think that might have Anton Segner, a German. Plays for Auckland.
@jsheehan62 ай бұрын
Almost definitely Segner. I saw the same documentary. Segner is big and accurate but is in a position with tons of depth in NZ. These two young men have clearly come to NZ with big goals and huge drive. They are both to be commended and, like a lot of young men coming from closer to home, I wish them the best.
