I've noticed that audiences (mainly White) are only really comfortable laughing at White/Black comedians. They don't know what to do when the person is Asian, South Asian, Hispanic etc... That was really awkward to watch. Ali clearly cared more to talk about Daniel while Ellen insisted on details about the white co-star instead. Also I felt as though Ellen couldn’t care less about what Ali had to say. Fakest laughs I’ve ever seen and heard. I’ve noticed lately that unless the guest is some big shot celebrity and/or if they are actual good friends with Ellen, she becomes disinterested and impatient with the interview and it’s extremely obvious in her body language and facial expressions.
