How Far Can Geometry Dash Icons Jump at Different Speeds? (Part 1 - Cube)

I ran an experiment where I measured how far Geometry Dash's Cube icon can jump at speeds ranging from 0.5 all the way up to 4. Tall spikes and big sized cube were used in the experiment.

fun fact: you can automatically align objects in the x or y axes by using the appropriate "AlignX" and "AlignY" buttons which you can find in the menu in the upper right when creating a level.

@@molybd3num823 for example if you have to put 5 spikes at the same distance to each other without having to do it manually you can set only the one on the far right and the one in the left, put the other 3 casually in between them, select all and in the menu in the upper right tap "AlignX" to do the job for you. Obviously use AlignX to align objects at the same distance horizontally and "AlignY" to do it vertically

You can jump further with the cube Use slopes and quadruple speed and you can jump 7 normal spikes and one small flat spike so 8 spikes in total

There is an option in the editor to move an object 1/60th of a block. So for a few of these jumps, you can move the spike farther.

the testing could have been as simple as setting up a macro to jump at the very beginning and then jumping over the spikes, also betteredit could also have been used due to its grid precision feature, allowing for wayyyy more accurate limits

No? Assuming you're talking about the small spikes, they don't count because their hitboxes are...well, smaller. Secondly, you can only jump over a tripple spike at half speed if you push the spikes closer together. You can just place a spike in the middle 3:05 and it becomes a "tripple" spike.

What about doing it with the ball? Ball is on the ground. Ball needs to switch gravity to not die to spikes, but there are spikes on the top extending from the beginning to a certain point. What “certain point” is the farthest that Ball can make it past?

Actually, if you use Short spikes, its duable for a triple spike in *60 hertz* in half speed. This is the same for normal, double, triple and quadruple speed (4,5,6 and 7).

Half speed can jump 3 spikes on 60hz when timed correctly. It has to be half spikes though. 1x speed: 4 spikes; 2x speed:5 spikes;3x speed: 6 spikes; 4x speed: 7 spikes. Biggest jump possible: Robot 4x speed half spikes+robot tap and jump glitch+red jump pad= 26 spikes 0.5’!

3^8'0" is possible on normal speed, but afaik it's the limit, and is both frame perfect and sub-frame position dependent. (with a double jump)

@@LucyBoob a 3 spike, 8 tick jump requires you to double jump on the exact right frame. from there, on the frame before you get above the spike hitbox, it needs to be almost as close to you as possible, or else even with perfect timing you won't be able to clear it.
