The scariest thing in our entire lives is to meet and accept ourselves. Dark Alice proves it so. This song is incredibly peaceful, but a bit melancholic too, because once Alice accepts herself, time can move on for her and that thought of change creeps her out.

It is nice to see Anri's animations, though. I have hopes she'll get some interesting ones out, if not the entire goal of a game. It's incredible to see fans pick up from where creators (were forced to) leave off

It sucks that we won't get a proper game. Everything was planned out, they pitched it, and they got turned down. We could've had one of the most unique games of the 2020s right here, but EA had to turn it down because it didn't seem lucrative. But at least Mr. McGee allowed us all to see what would've happened, and how Alice's story ended. For all intents and purposes, we got our happy ending, in a dream captured yet not realized, and this music communicates that well.

On having a manipulator shadow: In my personal experience, each person has their own shadow. I became aware of mine at 22. I am manipulative, I like control but I'm not someone who can exert control directly like a controlling person, I'm not that kind of strong. I can't impose myself or strike fear. I am a kind and cheerful 25 yo guy who still looks like a teen, however I'm ambitious and I have an intense drive to get what I want and what I deserve 😌 So my shadow is trickier, subtle, it pulls strings. My last boyfriend was a very nice guy who wouldn't do anything unless I made him, it came a point during my mom's first awful surgery recovery where I told myself "Do you really need to pull all of this tricks to make someone stay? love you how you want it? Do you really need to control people so they'll love you?" and I found out how hollow it feels that most of his nice actions, gifts were all provoked by me. Because he wouldn't do it by himself Some time after that, I dated more guys and both did nice things without me making them, they were natural. And I felt loved, liked, taken care of, I cried on my way back out of happiness with the plushie that guy gift me 😌 Everything feels real now

I was hurt by its cancelation aswell 😭 But I was already hurt many times with it. During its development It deviated from the game I fell in love in the wiki. I'll speak about that on a video about that grief, I believe it might be convenient for our community

I listened to this track after reading the developer's bible for the game. Dear God, the ending to this series was going to be absolutely remarkable. Just reading the concept for it already made me bawl like a baby.

Read the wiki! My 2020 self felt so immerse in there. I feel the Asylum wiki was much better since they didn't speak about all the depression places in the Bible, it became just a transission to the mines

I love this one! It really nails the feeling of confronting and accepting yourself. It doesn’t come easy, but it’s a massive weight off your shoulders when it happens. It feels personal in a way I’m still trying to describe.

It is personal! Alice is relatable for a lot of us and this story added more to it. Facing ourselves is this scary, but once we come to terms with ourselves things start to be less chaotic when things go wrong 😌

I have that poster hanging up in my hallway! I think this song sounds amazing! I love the meloncholy melody but it is not a sad song, really. Neither is it happy. But it is both somehow. The ticking was a lovely touch!

I startes to write some Alice fanfic... But now that the game is not... Well I think I am going to change things around and write a novel about it. The storyline is so precious not to be shared some way.... I have to do something. Anyway, your music really helps while writing to stay in the right mindset.

About that fanfic matter, I would really recommend you a book a good new friend of mine gave me, the name is Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon (Roba como un artista, por si hablas español 😸) Basically says that sometimes the best works are those that sprouted in our imagination, while inspired by another work. In this case you just have to change it a little so it is not Alice, but the kind of person the character Alice represents :) Good luck in your endeavors! ✨

@@JoyLuna Omg I have read that book! It was really good! And some older works like Alice in Wonderland in general are open copyrights, which is why there are so many adaptions of it and others, so I really don't feel bad overall. I mean, it is going to be changed in significant ways, as I don't want to just copy it, I want to make it my own story, but I think it carries the spirit of the story at the same time.

If the game had been continued, you would have 1000% been perfect to lead in making the music. You capture the essence of McGee's Alice so well with your music, and I love how a lot of your tracks pay homage to the main theme of Madness Returns. Omg I forgot I hadn't commented in this piece but it's amazing as usual, it captures the meeting of both parts of alice after their clash perfectly. I think it's fair to say that the community has been quite destroyed after Asylum's rejectal but this song is really cathartic as some sort of bittersweet ending for the franchise, since though not in a game format alice's story is completed via the beautiful design bible the pre-production team made.

Yes! I still prefer the initial Wiki as a narrative. It was so immersive to explore each domain by reading about them separately. In the final design bible all is streamlined and depression domain's iconic places were cut

Esta canción caló tan profundo en mi que hasta quise llorar. Vivir con otra voz que no te deja sentir es duro, pero poco a poco vas aceptando que es parte de ti, parte de ese alguien que experimentó el trauma y solo se esfuerza por evitarte el dolor. Es irónico que, a veces, termina lastimándote más que los otros... Hermosa canción. De verdad que tienes un talento inmenso para transmitir.

Todo lo que he compuesto que involucra a Shadow Alice son canciones de amor de alguien que te ama y no sabe como cuidarte Ese sentir está presente desde "Force Of Protection" "Solve Et Coagula" y esta: "Meet Myself" La parte final es igual a la parte final de Solve Et Coagula, la cual es tu pelea con ella Todo el tema inició desde la idea del mundo de sombras "Voy a envolverte en oscuridad porque no sé como más cuidarte, estoy haciendo mal, pero es lo único que sé" He disfrutado muchísimo hacer esta temática, el ego es nocivo pero sus intenciones son nobles 😌 Muchas gracias por hacérmelo saber!

EA is greedy and unfair. McGee poured his heart and soul into Alice, from the very first game. They don't want an Alice Asylum not because they don't want another Alice game. They don't want McGee on board. This is my honest opinion and feeling. McGee should go on making alice-like games, but based on other tales, like little red riding hood, cinderella etc

The problem with companies is that even though they are run by humans they need a lot of income to continue, they need to do things far beyond empathy or emotions because they need the money to exist and thus they are non-organic. It's different from people like American who is a person, or other creators, I don't think they are able it's just a big thing that needs to do souless things to keep feeding and existing

@@JoyLunaIt is a very, very well written game for the grand strategy game hearts of Iron 4. The New Order: Last Days of Europe is a story about a cold war between America, Germany, and Japan. It is more of a story book then a strategy game. Depending on your decisions the out come of your country and the world will change. It is unbelievably well written, it can make you cry and scare you better then most modern games. The part I was talking about, takes place in the Russian wasteland around a man named Sergey Taboritsky. A schizophrenic Nazi Monarchist, that unites Russia under a hellish nightmare state called the Holy Russian Empire. Taboritsky declares himself Blessed Regent proclaiming Alexei Romanov (the dead son of the last Tsar) is alive and will only return once Russia is PURE. Taboritsky's story is horrifying and better than mist horror games, it ends with Russia as a concept destroyed and all of Russia rendered nearly uninhabitable. The very end, where I believe you song would have fit, is when Alexei II appears to a crowd of starved people, and for the first time in years gives then hope.
