People gave his wife Sheryl a lot credit for getting Alice through his rough times, but it really comes down to the person who is in trouble. You have to want to get better. Love Alice,always will.

Did himselves no favours tearing his shirt off. He wasn't a well man back then with the drink thing going on. But he beat it, he won. And I've seen him in concert back end of 09 and he looks good, sounds great and is loving it. True legend. Anybody that hasn't seen Alice in concert is missing out. Theres nothing out there like him, and nothing coming thru either. So if you get the chance to see him, take it. Absolutely Brilliant.

@ Growing in that area I think it was the best place for music. There was Motown then the MC5 and the Stooges Ted Nugent and the list goes on. I think a lot of bands liked playing in Detroit because of their history in music. Cactus was a part Detroit band with Jimmy Mcarty on guitar and Rusty Day on vocals both Detroit rockers. I was so disappointed I gave up on AC for several years. Had been expecting the original members (no internet back then). Thankfully he has world-class musicians now, except missing a keyboardist.

I remember May of 1971 when school was out for summer, and I was ready to go to the seventh grade. Never seen Alice live in concert but he was the very first to put on a theatrical type show. This cat was out there for a long time, now he claims his Christianity. He is the legend when it comes to the hard rock style music. I remember in that same Fall of the year after summer vacation is when he came out with Billion Dollar Babies? That LP had all our parents saying he was the Antichrist? He was out there.

This was on TV ,Saturday night on one of the 3 channels back then around 1979-80 from "From the Inside" tour ,The video is called "The strange Case of Alice Cooper" I saw him a few times during this period ,he just got more weird until DADA ,that was it. Then he came back with Constrictor and Raise your fist and yell,then he was BACK!

I saw him in San Diego 2 years later (1981) Allied Forces Tour. He was even more tweaked out. Half the audience was outlaw bikers and everyone was tripping. By the end of the show they were tearing the place apart. (Best concert ever)...

I don't know...I wouldn't say it sucks. It's VERY interesting, I've never seen this footage. A scary look for Uncle Alice...he never looked the part more than during this time period, well and a few years later when he relapsed HARD. Man, he was really crazy looking at that point...this thin, but missing teeth and crazy eyed as hell.

I am so glad he pulled out of this--Today he is one of the best shows for the money--go see him before he is carried away, for that is what will have to happen to him in order to stop. I think Davey Johnstone came to Lubbock Texas with Elton John in 2000. I also saw Alice Cooper here around 1996-7 open for the scorpions. Awesome guitarist. Should have toured with Ted Nugent.

Us old guys remember this period. I always thought he was on some weird hyper drug even when I was a kid cause he looked different and acted different too. I thought the band played really sloppy when I saw this show in '79. He said the same exact words as when I saw him in Portland. If Alice has ever had a bad night it's probably still twice as good as most others. I guess I wanted to say it's not as though I've never seen this before because...I have :)

The title of the video is totally misleading, the band had already played schools out for the most part, this is just a extended band introduction/jam, which he still does though somewhat less chaotically
