Yeah it's a Shame he didn't come up with another name for his solo career instead of screwing the band that made him.

I agree, it spawned 50 years of confusion thinking Alice Cooper is a he, not a they.
@soarornor2 ай бұрын
@@Tcsingandstrum Exactly. That’s a real tragedy for the rest of the guys in the band. Yeah, those that know, know, but a whole lot of people think Vince is the entire entity and he’s not. It was a beautiful American success story that each one of those guys helped create. The epitome of a band effort. Only the guys in that band know what the real story was between them in the end, but I wish instead of plotting a split, their management could have recognized the need for a break and then coming back together fresh and creating new material. It was a waste of an amazing collective that had produced something truly unique. They were all amazing players and writers. As a live band they were beyond incredible, especially those early days. This happens to a lot of bands that become big and are sucked into the star making machinery.
@soarornor2 ай бұрын
@@CKS64 What surprised me the most about his solo career is that he seemed to desperately cling to the Alice character that had become a kind of millstone around his neck. I thought he was well sick of it towards the end. I just wish the band had got some time off and a chance to relax a bit and recharge. They were such an amazing entity as a group of friends and as a band, untouchable for the most part. I recently heard some live recordings of them in the Love It To Death era and man they were great. They had been touring a lot and had reached a point of playing their songs any way they felt like, not just mimicking the records. They were super tight and extremely creative. That original band is Alice Cooper.

What was created here by this original band is immense. MUCH more than a cursory listen and approval. SO many things that influenced othe bands even today. Endlessly Nuanced vocals and instrument writing and execution, really smart amalgamation of song parts and dynamics, lyrics and themes, hooks and allure. Forget it. A mountain of bands are built on this foundation.
