Hang on to your hat here - Alice did another album following the character Steven later in his life when he is a serial killer who is taking his orders from a spider. The album is called "Along Came a Spider". There's a mini-movie / music video that has a medley of some songs from the album called "Along Came a Spider: The Movie". (It might be the only chance you will get to see Slash strolling down the hallway of an insane asylum with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth while he's shredding his guitar) My take on this storyline is that Steven is an adult, but his mental state goes back to being a child.

Oh wow, that's cool that he revisited Steven later on! May have to take a look at that album!

Love this album, don't listen to it too often now, but I've been a fan for 35 years now.. Alice has had his ups and downs, but he really has a great range of amazing stuff. Great singer and great presence on stage.

Definitely agree with the stage presence! Don't find many artists who nail every single album or era they go through but always good to know they they got it right sometimes!

Loved the reaction , a better choice than my recommendation welcome to my nightmare . Alice cooper always played on the horror vibe , he is a witty intelligent man who doesn’t take himself to seriously , he was a guest on the muppet show and it’s hysterical , I am a shrink and Steven is describing schizophrenic symptoms . Probably not wise of me to listen to this at 6 30 in the morning when I am getting up in the dark to feed my horses . Thanks that was excellent
@MusicForTheSoulReactions2 ай бұрын
Well I will certainly accept your professional diagnosis of Steven for his wild behaviour, sheds light and the mindframe of his I was trying to figure out! I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction. Haha hope you dont get spooked out there! Cool that you have horses though!
@gerryrafferty75002 ай бұрын
@@MusicForTheSoulReactions we breed race horses on the farm , seldom make money but I like having them around . Steven is describing auditory hallucinations which are third party and telling him what to do , paranoia and dissociation all first rank schizophrenic symptoms , usually presents in late adolescence when a child becomes an adult , hence the duality of child v man in the songs

The first time I heard this I was tripping balls, headphones on full blast, sitting in a dark room alone. And yes, my name is Stephen. The chemical "assistance" I utilised magnified the feeling many times. This doesn't get much radio airplay, so this is the second time I've endured this. Very, VERY creepy. Thanks.

I bought this albumn back in 1975. Wasn't ever that gripped by it, but there's good stuff there. Very clever, very emotive. I can appreciate it more now I'm older. It's not something you'd have on your playlist though is it? Early Cooper albumns, the group really, are great. Killer, Schools Out, Love It To Death. Doubt you'd have time to listen to the whole lot, but you should have a go a one or two early Alice Coopers.

I find that most bands, perhaps from the rare one or two struggle to have a complete library of perfect material. I consider it lucky if one has a good solid 10 amazing top tier records, enough to compose a greatest hits album for instance. I hope to hear more of Alice Coopers bangers. Cheers for the comment
