Cool little story for those that dont know. The guitar Jerry is playing on would ? was gifted to him by none other than eddie van halen. The guitar would eventually go missing for nearly 20 years until one day a friend of Jerry's saw it for sale online. About a month after that another friend of Jerry's also saw it online and bought it for $7000 and returned it to jerry. Jerry said he immediately called EVH to let him know he got the guitar back after nearly 20 years.

I was in rehab with Mike Star in 2010. We went to an AA meeting in a quiet church basement one night and the band had just finished practice in the chapel. I wandered in there with Mike and under this gorgeous dim-lit cathedral ceiling with blood red shag carpet, Mike asked to borrow a bass and started laying down lines from dirt and I sang a bit. The church guy had no idea who Mike was and just what we were being treated to, but I did. That's very special memory for me. God bless Mike and Layne. Jesus saves!

The music their wrote seemed to be their own lives.. IDK I was born in 95' and I just discovered AIC, I love them, Layne and all of them seemed to bleed for their music.. But sad thing is, Layne and Mike and all of them are dead.. I don't know it is kinda crazy when you watch these 90's bands because due to the heroin use they would all use long sleeves or be dressed as if it was winter all the time, either because they were too slim or because of the track marks.. kinda sad.. But you're right, the 90's were legendary..all there is now to listen to is plastic music to become a millionaire, buy big mansions in L.A, wear designer clothes, etc. etc.

Mike's bass game was on point that night damn Layne being drunk and goofy on that interview makes this much more special, his drunk giggles on stage too. The outtakes are everything! "we're talking amonst ourselves" lmao Mike would probably have a great career as a VJ or TV host had he just had the right conections and will power, I know that he loved this band until his last days but he shines at these lil improvs with interviewers Oh man, Imagine the amount of unseen MTV footage from Layne and Mike from that time that are just laying around at a dusty ol' basement... We can only hope it will somehow get to yt like this did Thank you so much for posting!

OK so I have to say that this "Them Bones" is the best ever! His voice in my humble opinion was and is still the best voice in rock music. Really unique. The new singer is just OK but his voice is not Laynes voice and perhaps its unfair to compare him. Laynes voice was insane

I got to see them in Australia a couple years ago. There was about 8 stages playing heavy metal all day long and they came out towards the end of the night. All the other stages shut down and they open up with Them Bones and fireworks and everything. Played all the hits and a few new songs. Made a lot of the metal bands look like pussy cats haha. It was an epic event. I definitely would've loved to see them with Layne but it was still a dream come true.

I knew him from 88 onward, and he was an awesome human & mega hilarious. A super sweet & kind guy with one weakness. And because he got famous his weakness was out there for all to see. And this haunted him until the end. He lived in shame, blaming himself for Mike S being out & then the Metallica tour they had to drop off & being famous & everyone knows you’re an addict, that makes it a million times harder to get clean.

The internet ruined everything about the rock n roll business. The record companies knew it was coming and did nothing to protect the artists and their ability to stay legit and viable. If you look at each decade since the 50's, every decade gave us legendary rockers and memorable scenes...since the internet happened and the 2000's, what has it given us? Nothing and Nobody! If you you experienced the 80's and 90's music scenes like I did, hold on to those memories because there will never be anything like it ever again.

What's more important? Some music that corporate record label business's fund and commercialize then overkill these band members with nonstop touring dates and pressure them to lengthy traveling day in and day out......or peoples lives and living naturally and healthy?
