@cobrastriesand76934 жыл бұрын
@@ZO5150 yeah I clicked, because I assumed he would do it "full-Phil", and it would either be amazing or a total train wreck. Maybe if Layne were still alive he would have been willing to take a bigger risk like, but I don't know, a lot of 90s bands wrote lyrics that were just words that were supposed to sound cool together, but Pantera and AIC songs usually sound like they are about something or somebody in particular, even if you cant tell what or who. Maybe that demands the more conservative interpretation.

I'll say this; Phil didn't sing his best here, but what he did was transfer the emotion very well, which in this case I feel was better than technique or prowess. I am not taking anything away from Layne or from the difficulty of performing this song properly, but Phil Anselmo was well beyond his prime here. He recently got off the heroin and his voice was completely destroyed after heavy shouting and careless incorrect singing over many years. If Layne sang the type of music Phil was singing, his voiced would have burnt out a long time ago and he wouldn't be able to reach those highs either. Extraterres'TRE'al When I got shipped to Turkey, I was 175lbs at 5’ 10”. Drank two bottles a night for two months. Worst drug addiction I’ve had, out of two I’ve knocked off thankfully. Came home 130 lbs with PTSD. I have no fucking idea how they held up.

Richard Skipper You know I never had to pull the trigger? Did you know I wished to God I never had to kill anyone? Did you know I DID NOT kill anyone? Yes, I’m a trained killer, but I didn’t see any babies, so how could I have possibly killed one? 😂😂. Kiss my fucking ass.

He did a good job on an impossible task . Not in his prime or element , but an A for effort and the thought

Phil has a very deep and powerful voice, Layne had a very powerful yet hauntingly controlled style all his own. Love both, respect both. Great tribute 👏

Phil can’t do it exactly like Layne, that’s Alice In Chains’ sound. He gave it the ol slight pantera Phil sound. I think he did good. And also Jerry Cantrell is very overlooked and under appreciated.

Layne was the the BEST vocals(I MEANT THE BEST EVERRR) when it's comes to grunge and rock but have to give the props to Phil for his effort.. You obviously can't compare between AIC and Pantera.. Two different legendary bands at their best..
@MLCrow4 жыл бұрын
True...and try to put/imagine it the other way around (Layne properly singing a Pantera's song). I can't really...no matter if Layne is my favorite vocalist ever...whatever...Phil here deserves respect (at least).

One of my favorite songs. Look they wrote it, it's great. Doesn't matter who does now. Like a relay or Olympic tourch, just gets passed on.
@benbond34334 жыл бұрын
If Phil did this earlier on, like during the Vulgar days, then this would've been off the chain. Still, this was an honorable performance from him. Funny thing is that Layne was how much smaller in stature than Phil, and yet Layne could roar like an absolute giant...like another legend, Mr. Ronnie James Dio. AIC's performance at The Moore, doing "Love, Hate, Love"? Forget it. Jerry did this beautifully. Think about it...Pantera's vocalist lost his guitarist, and AIC's guitarist lost his vocalist. That's kinship right there.
@davidedemurodominijanni98894 жыл бұрын
LOVE HATE LOVE is my damn song, the best song ever and the greatest song of AIC. Layne was godsent when I heard it for the first time. That song is pure pain and sorrow... no song will ever represent my feelings better than that. Layne was my heart and soul finding voice!
