@Thomas Malnourie You know that in Alice's prime, Jerry wrote almost all of the music, AND a lot of the lyrics? A lot of people don't know it, but he wrote the lyrics to tracks like Them Bones, Dam that river, Rooster, Down in a hole, Would, No Excuses, Heaven Beside you, We Die Young, etc. Just a few, but Jerry has always been the soul and brain of Alice. Layne was awesome, and better than Will, but you can't take away Jerry's contribution...

I'll always love Jerry but AIC isn't the same without Layne. I'm a MASSIVE fan of his and, as good as he is, I'll never see William anywhere near as good the frontman/singer Layne was. Sorry. I only listen to Layne era AIC

Your loss, they’re incredible Live and will’s guitar playing adds a lot to the live sound. They will never reach the peaks like dirt they did with Layne but they’re still one of the best bands out there, this album was amazing, some of the absolute best Alice songs are on this record. Jerry was and always will be the most important member of the band by a mile, he’s the brains of the operation who Has always written the large large majority of The music, as long as he’s around I will be listening to their music because he is AIC. I miss Layne he’s one of the greatest singers ever but William is a fantastic singer in his own right and a great guitarist and all around musician, Layne may have been the superior singer but William is a better musician as a whole, you’re really depriving yourself of some of them best Alice In Chains music, plus Jerry is the lead singer more often than will on new material. Black gives way to blue sold very well and received fantastic reviews including multiple album of the year awards. Sad that the hardcore Layne fans like yourself will no longer support Jerry and the boys even tho he’s still writing almost all the music like he did when Layne was in the band and it still kicks ass. They will never top dirt/jar of flies because those are some of the greatest projects ever but the band is still amazing and the are so good live. As long as they are putting out music I will support them, Jerry/Sean/mike deserve it and so does Will

@@janae2093 exactly, dude has literally been playing with Jerry for almost 20yrs now and playing with AiC for 15 which is a lot longer than Layne was active in the band. Ppl need to move on, Layne was a legend and the band was amazing but they’re still a great job and Will does awesome, he’s not trying to be Layne he’s doing his own thing and it works perfectly with Jerry and the band, the fact he’s still getting hate all these years later is sad.

Dumbass, as long as Jerry is in the band it’ll never be a cover band, he’s always been the genius behind the band writing the music, as long as he’s around writing music for AIC it’ll kick ass and it’ll be AIC because he is the band and he was even when Layne was Alive.
