Thanks for the review. I printed this game recently and awaiting a chance to get together and try it out. Life is Strange was an amazing adventure and I love that this game recreates some of that experience. I really appreciate both that you are reviewing something a little different and that your review style is a bit different too.

I played it once. My impression is that, while it was a lot fun and I am glad I played it, there isn't much replayability here. And for a board(ish) game replayability is important.

It is true that we would not play it back to back with the same people. However I find that this is one of the rare games that stays with me long after the game session. All the twists and turns, characters and the ending. And that is more valuable to me than playing it twice in the row. But that is just me ;) /Jānis G.

I have to play this one. Also an alternative videogame suggestion for those who love "Life is strange" - should also try to play "What Remains of Edith Finch", great 2-3 h cinematic experience!

I just ran this for five teenagers who have never played RPGs before (my daughter asked me to get it for a trip with her friends). I actually wish I had started them with a different game to get them used to the idea of roleplaying in a more traditional format. This game would be amazing for practiced roleplayers; it required a LOT of prompting for newbie teenagers. The game requires confident creativity to play well since the storyline is so fluid and collaborative. Especially when you get down to the 30 minute, 20 minute and 10 minute cards - the evidence you make up for the final suspect might be totally wrong depending on the 20 minute and 10 minute outcomes. I ended up pulling the last two cards so I could give hints to the player who pulled the 30 minute clue card.

That is a very very good point. This most likely is not the best first encounter with an RPG since this is a twist on a regular RPG. I am going try running a game of Tales from the Loop for people who have not played RPG's. As that seems to be a cool theme and more welcoming rules wise as well.

@@BoardGameHangover I bought Tales from the Loop to take along on the trip as well and I wish I had used that for an introduction instead! And then followed up with Alice is Missing the next day. I thought Alice would be a good entry point because it's a real-life setting and the characters are high schoolers, and the kids on the trip are all entering high school this fall. Three of them have asked me to run a DnD game for them online though, so at least I didn't completely blow their introduction to RPGs! Really enjoying your review channel.

Hey guys, really enjoyed the video! I think I might pick this one up. Just a question: Would I be able to play this with people who are not in the same household? E.g. Are there cards that they would need to access, making it difficult to play over online video streaming? Thanks!

There are options to get this for the Roll20 site. But check out this page, it also has a guide how to run this over video call. www.huntersentertainment.com/alice-is-missing

It might get tricky with playing remotely. At certain times each person needs to flip a certain card so they physically have to have them. In this case we would suggest buying the PDF version www.drivethrurpg.com/product/321387/Alice-Is-Missing-A-Silent-Roleplaying-Game or Roll 20 version marketplace.roll20.net/browse/module/6051/alice-is-missing
