I made my own cardgame a few years ago from a idea workshop I attended. During our final presentation, one of the judges was from a government company that will give seed fundings to startups, and he was excited about my game. Fast forward to almost 7 years now, I never really did pursuit the cardgame. But, within that 7 years of gap, I did get my friends to playtest my mockup and prototype. I think I just might get back on it. I'm also working on converting an existing fighting game into a tabletop style cardgame fighting. It will be shortlived but I am hoping to make it into trial for the real game devs of the existing fighting game to play it. Thanks for making this video, and wish me luck!

You know, three years ago I came up with an idea for a game called Deeper Dungeons. It was a co-op card game, where you open doors to discover rooms, and each room has a chance to contain nothing, an enemy, or a treasure (draw from the item deck) The goal of the game was to get OUT of the dungeons by finding the set of stairs that were placed somewhere it the deck. I made it completely by hand, and still think about remaking it and publishing today. Inspiration: GOT.

I think you guys could benefit from the custom mechanical keyboard marketing model of doing Group Buys, where you basically sell X copies until you reach a MOQ, and *then* you actually produce the number of bought copies and ship them wherever; and after that, you make a Round 2, ad infinitum Basically, infinite kickstarters, but you also don't go through the hassle of setting up one, with a hype video and tiers

Can I just say how much I appreciate (as an almost compulsive, perfectionist designer myself) seeing how meticulously you arrange all the elements with correct spacing using the align option and they all have the same stroke width? Because with all the designers/game developers on KZbin/Kickstarter and such, it's all too rare to see this attention to detail, so I want to mention this quality - I really appreciate it! 👌 This time invested by you alone should be reason enough for a re-release for The Keeyp. Okay, designer-nerd-talk over. Great job! 😅 If you're ever interested in a German localisation - I'd be happy to support you, even if it might be a bit difficult (but not impossible) to translate all wordplays as such.

It’s how I started learning. basically what I wanna do right now, well...maybe whet I'm doing, because I already made some mechanic and rules. I really love board game and making one is really a dream for me. I've made a "board game" before when I was a child, it just a paper where I draw a map/a circuit where me and my friend race on it. that time, I don't even know the term board game, the idea just come to my head. super glad I found this video, really awesome and motivated. thanks for making this, and I would definitely get myself a copy of the Keeyp, looks super interesting!

I think a cool feature to have would be to have blank cards which the users could themselves fill and add more expansion. This could possibly make the groups have that you know the 'In the group' things which they could talk about personally which can kind of set them apart from other players of the game while at the same time keeping the community alive. **I know I am a bit late but yeah**

if this had a solo mode i'd be all over it. "roguelite to board game" is something i frickin' love. there's a game called 'quest for the lost pixel' that might be my favorite board game of all time and it nailed the roguelite video game feel.

there was a board game that I can't recall its name. You build the entire map in stage 1 then when stage 2 triggers depending on some parameters of how stage 2 was reached the whole monster and mechanics of stage 2 would change, sometimes the bad guy is a zombie and turns everyone into a zombie, an other time the map would collapse, etc (I didn't get to play many renditions of it to comment)

IDK if you have heard of it before but you should look into the game crafter, they will make table top games for you and all you need to do is load the files for the cards/ packaging. Might be a way for you to continuously sell your game without it costing you much, they do all the delivery and production, and will give you a (small) cut of the profits

Great video! I missed the stock on this unfortunately but I hope the people who were able to get a copy enjoy! I wanted to say I recently made a board game for my girlfriend and I to play as a birthday gift to her. It was super rough and homemade, definitely just a prototype, but I got a blank board game kit off of Amazon for about $23 with blank box, cards, a game board, a spinner, dice, and tokens. If you want to prototype a game or just make something fun for your friends and family, it's a super approachable price point and high-quality stuff.

I once made a simple multiplayer board game for my niece. Printed on two sheets of A4 photographic paper. I didn't know about vector graphic, so everything was horribly pixelated (I used Paint). The game was a blast. So satisfying for me, too :)

Wow, I had a very similar idea and it looks like you beat me by two years. D&D campaigns take so much time and effort to start, so I started making a D&D card game. Cards for characters, weapons, encounters, enemies, NPCs, items, etc., each with their own stats and effects. Then board cards for the dungeon so that a campaign builds itself. Players agree on a story card, each selects a character, and they progress through the game by adding a board tile and action card in turn. The action card (shop, encounter, rest, etc.) dictates what the players have to react to, and the player's character & collected item cards dictate how they can react.

This seriously reminds me of a game called "betrayal at house on the hill" you explore a giant house getting items and loot, until the haunt is revealed. Once one player is revealed as the haunt, everyone has to work together(or in their own) to escape the house or kill the haunt. Their is tons of different haunts what can happen with a unique gameplay each time.
