I was not expecting this game to blow me away but it did and totally lived up to the praise I've heard from other people. Did it for you? What's another game I should check out? (bonus points if I can review it on Roll20)

How about Spoken Magic by Dylan Grinder? It's another deck-based storytelling game.

The creator of this game, Spenser Starke, made a couple longer tutorial videos on doing the setup, gameplay, and closeout of the game using Roll20 that were very helpful to watch. He's also facilitated and run numerous iterations of the game that have been streamed and made available on KZbin. It's a very unique game to stream, since there's so much visual chat, but when setup right it's really amazing for experiencing the entire game.

I ran this for my teenager daughter and four of her friends; the physical edition wasn't going to arrive in time for our trip together, so I bought the Roll20 bundle and planned to run it through Roll20. It ended up being very frustrating and for the most part we only used the chat function for the in-game texting. The rest of the game I ended up having to screen capture the cards and email them to each player at the right time because I could not for the life of me figure out how to deal the cards to a specific player. It should have been really intuitive but it was NOT. I almost lost their interest in the game because set-up was such a pain and took so long. This video would have been MUCH MORE USEFUL if it showed how to actually use the Roll20 features to deal the deck and change settings on the decks so players can't accidentally see information on cards they shouldn't be seeing.

Daaaamn, this game seems like SO much fun (like the weird intense fun, not the "haha, so amusing" fun)!!! But I'm pretty sure I don't have friends who would vibe with this as hard as me... Guess one more to buy and have collecting dust in the corner. Also, loved the "sus........ picious"

This game is so amazing and intense. One of the best role playing experiences I've ever had.

Not sure this game is for me, but I love to see something different so maybe. Really liking these videos. It's nice to get an idea of a game I'm unfamiliar with. Perhaps for future episodes you could tackle Fate or Mothership?

I got to play this with my friends awhile back and I would LOVE to play it again...I enjoyed it that much lol I still listen to the music in the timer while playing games or working, I wish/hope they would add more characters to play so the replay value is more(fyi our Alice had a happy ending)
@mjb14752 жыл бұрын
I didn't know a happy ending was possible. May have to give it a look.

@@mjb1475 So when I say happy ending I don’t mean like a true happy ending something bad still happened to her but she made it out ok

So is it more like a board game and has replay value? Or is this a one and done kind of like a module? Also thank you again for another great video.

It looks like they have multiple suspects, Alices, clues, and scenarios from this vid Not 100% though, I haven't gotten to play this one :/
@Glistam2 жыл бұрын
It has a real good amount of replay value. There are 2 or 3 options for each of the timer cards, 80 minutes down to the 10 minute ones. Since they're shuffled and drawn randomly those events create a unique timeline. Not to mention the random draw of suspects and locations, combined with the unique elements each play through assigns to them, makes each game feel very unique.

Every card (except the 90 minute start card) has 3 different options and like others have said, you’ll draw randomly from the suspects and locations decks (there are 5 different ones and 2 of each in each deck so someone or somewhere may come out twice making it doubly suspicious). The book says that it is very much replayable but suggests you do so with a different group of people and if that’s not possible at least change up the character you’re playing as. I’ve played this so far 3 different times and am running it tonight for a group and it has been VERY different, but awesome every time!

I just bought the game in a shop, and it seems I can't have the cards online, which I kind of expected. I'm a bit disappointed by that. Is there a way you could send codes or something to have access to the roll20 thing? the game seems really "fun" and I'd like to play it online rather than in a single room. Thanks for any answer. Have fun.

Hello. One more question. How to shuffle the face up cards when it is said by 30 minutes card? I mean, according to rulebook, we should collect all the face up suspect cards and shuffle them, then reveal one. How to do in roll20? thanks!

Hello, I am not really into Roll20. Is it enough to have 1 copy for the Gamemaster or the players should buy a copy too? Thanks in advance!

One copy for the GM should do!

At 1:45 how did you make the Introduction big? If I double click on the card it a "Token Settings" page pops up.

Hi there! Try clicking the card and typing Shift+Z! That should blow the card up for you!

I thought it was a 90 minute timer? How would it be 2-3 hours?
@Fionor01 Жыл бұрын
Preparation (character creation, setup, voice messages and rules explanation) takes about an hour. And after the game there is time needed for decompression/debriefing, which can easily take over 30 minutes.
