I made the video, 10 years ago, and I can tell you that Alice was sold out this day! After her gig people surrounded her and bought plain CDs without labeling and nothing.

In following her career for so many years, It's been hard to accept that not every beautiful moment of it could be captured, let alone in high definition and high fidelity. I'll have to take what I can get. This video introduced me to her, and at first I didn't even bother to finish it; in the first seconds I was like "oh, low video quality, literally unwatchable". But the image of her standing there was already burned into my mind, I had to come back to know more. There are so many moments we missed, unrecorded, left to rot on an aging memory card, or never performed at all, locked away in her own mind. But in knowing her music in my heart as well as I do today, those moments we may have all missed still come to me when the world is quiet. Her rendition of "Darkly Smiling" is astonishing, despite never existing.
