Always love seeing a video with some surplus gear involved. Especially M81 camo. I like that smaller ALICE pack, it definitely frees up space on the frame for the sleep carrier.

O yes this is probably my favorite camo along with the swiss alpenflauge camo. Thanks for watching. See ya in the next vid🤗

My understanding is the radio pack is identical dimension wise to the medium alice. The difference is a larger internal radio pouch with an opening for an antenna as well as some clips and a strap that holds a AN/PRC-150 radio. The original application of this ruck was as a part of the Harris AN/PRC-150 vehicle dismount kit. The main takeaway is the medium alice ruck will work exactly as the one in this video.

Nice. I'm still learning about these. Thanks for the info and for watching 🤗

Not all. There is a version that is smaller in all dimensions. The 3 outside pockets are basically mag pouches in size. It was made by unicorn. Who also made a medium pack version. To get it to fit a frame it would be a extremely tight fit width wise. I modded a Alice frame at the top to be narrower. There's a good 4-6 inches to the bottom of the frame (lc2) between the pack and frame. I put on a shelf and store whatever under the pack. Like a sleeping bag ECT. I have the smaller version.

Scotty, awesome mod to the Alice. I cut my teeth on the Alice pack, it's my go to choice. tried the MOLLE, but always find myself back to old faithful. I took the waist pad and added it to Alice, and now will do what you showed. keep up the good work....

O yes the alice is a tried and true pack for sure. I do like this with the molle ll sleep carrier though. I hope it works out for you. Thanks for watching and hope all is well😎👍

I use the Alice Chem Suit bag for summer weight bags. It compresses the sleeping bag to be a bit smaller. I also use the Molle II Waist Pack to attach a Poncho Liner to the pack to supplement the sleep system. Then I attach a Molle II Sustainment Pouch to each side of the pack for, unironically, food.

Nice. I have a few of those waist pouches they are pretty nice with lot's of room. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts💯👍😎

Great looking pack. Why would you ever use a CFP90 if you have this? I’m wondering if a 1606 frame could be used for this set up.

Hi Scotty, thanks for the video! much appreciated. I guess when I seen your first video with this pack I did notice what I thought was the medium ALICE pack and looked a bit short. I've never seen those shorter Radio ALICE packs before, didn't know they existed. I would love to find one of those. All I have is the medium and large packs. That explains why my sleep carrier hangs so low, also I didn't bypass those first loops on the sleep carrier so that didn't help. I'll have to try that with the medium pack and see if it works better. Where did you get your Radio ALICE pack? Thanks very much for taking the time to make the video appreciate it. God Bless.👍
@scottysurvival2 жыл бұрын
O yes you bet. Was my pleasure. Ya if you put the webbing in the first loops it will sag really bad for sure. I bought the radio pack on ebay. They are usually their for around $40 dollars or probably a little more now. Hope you can find one for a good price. I'm going to use this pack in the next Overnighter. Thanks for watching 🤗💯👍👍👍👍

Does anyone know of anywhere to get one of the brand new unicor Alice radio packs? I noticed over at m81 FTW he mentioned he bought 10 of them or something. I'm trying to find 2 , in the bag still. Wish I had known when all those hit the market recently.

eBay is your best bet.

How would it affect the configuration if you went through the first two loops before going through the slots in the bottom of the frame and then continuing on the way you show

I'm not sure but I'm also curious too. I will have to try it out sometime
@scottysurvival Жыл бұрын
Hey I tried it with the shelf carrier and the straps are right in the way. So a no go unless maybe you knotch the metal out.
@JohnDoe-cd6ro Жыл бұрын
@@scottysurvival Darn. Thanks for the quick reply though. Saved me some time. I guess what I'll do then is keep the sleep carrier on top of the ALICE since it's heavier anyway and it'll keep the weight forward and I'll just bungee the foam sleeping pad roll either around or connected to the shelf at the bottom. That should do the trick.
