Food for thought: This cornet was made three years before Louis Armstrong cut his first discs with King Oliver. I am planning to do a video review of it as it has some features that are very different to a modern cornet and some that are very similar.

Gordon that has a really nice cornet sound. I like that a lot. Thank you

Thanks. It's a small cornet by modern standards. The bell flare is so narrow that it won't fit on a K&M trumpet stand.

Sweet sound, very nice dynamics, and just the right amount of vibrato! That looks like a Warburton piece, if so, which backbore and which cup?
@GordonHudson Жыл бұрын
Thanks. It's a Warburton 1BC with an 8* backbore. These small bore cornets need a tighter mouthpiece to get the sound and intonation right. These older instruments don't have the dynamic range of modern ones.

Another great video, Gordon! Are you still using Filmmic Pro for the audio?
@GordonHudson Жыл бұрын
Yes. I still have the legacy version. The current version is subscription and too expensive. There is another similar app now that's a one off purchase. Can't remember the name right now.

Very nice, which mouthpiece are you using?

Warburton 1BC and 8* backbore. Tight backbore needed for these older instruments.
