I'm only a few seconds in, but I love your outfit 😍 Edit now that I've watched it lol: it's so nice to see how many different options there are for good skincare. I know I sometimes get caught up in what is the "best" ingredient or product. 'Should I be using bifida/mugwort/ceramides/etc to fix all my problems?!' But really, there's so many great options to help heal & take care of your skin! A lot of it is just preference and consistency.

I haven't tried the "egg" yet, only their lipid gold, but I'm excited to scramble some eggs! I also love the Aquaphor for what it does to my skin. I now use pure lanolin at times too, especially for my lips, because my skin really responds to it. Though I admit the pure lanolin stinks quite a bit when you first start using it, or at least it did to me, until I got used to it. Now I don't even notice the smell. But then I'm the lone person who also loves the smell of tamanu oil.😮

I just started tretinoin .025% in the PM and Clindamycin in the AM and they have both really helped clear up my active acne and even my skintone in recent weeks. Then I got a PR package from Lily Silk and of course used four new products all at once last night and this morning… then I went to apply my makeup and noticed a hundred or more little pustules around my jaw and cheeks… needless to say, I’m concerned! But I found your video on their pudding moisturizer I used and learned it broke you out in a similarly described reaction. You have helped me stay calm the last 12 hours. I have my fingers crossed that this will resolve itself swiftly. ✨💖✨

Hi Alice. I love the strata gold liquid and applying it with the hydration moisturizer not using the egg structure... 😅 My skin is now facing skin barrier reaction too and the acne breakout is also a feeling that I identify with. Liquorice root extract in oil to control sebum and noni oil is needed for my dry skin while dabbing the RNW serum with the acne spot treatment is the way to remove bacteria. It's okay, my skin is reactive too and I am alright with certain fragrance in a product. 😊

And this is, for me, the worst time of year to have an issue or experiment with something new. Whenever fall hits, with its drier, colder weather, my face is in a precariously balanced place. I use that Tamanu oil mixed into my moisturizer all year round (I just adjust how many drops depending on the season). I am very sensitive to scents but I find that mixed into a moisturizer it doesn't bother me. The one down side is the variance in price I've paid anywhere from $5 to $20 Canadian for it (unfortunately these days it's closer to $20).

My fave oil for when my skin freaks out is boring, plain jojoba oil. If my skin is incapable of tolerating water, jojoba gets the makeup off, and Cetaphil for dry skin is the second cleanse. And, yes, I do put more jojoba oil on later before I use Vanicream Daily Moisturizer. Then, I use whatever cica cream I have on hand. My occlusive is plain shea butter. So far, that’s what works for me.

Now I have this picture of a deer at a mirror, with foamy hooves gently washing her face and glancing up anxiously at her antlers. I have been like a mother force feeding her kid with all things supposedly good and healthy - my skin complained with angry red spots all over and little crops of whiteheads. I had no idea what to do - stopped most stuff and applied cortisone skin cream (skin police - don't pounce!) Fortunately healed in a couple of days. The ginseng oil from the HoW set is so, so good. Only used a couple of nights. My crepey upper lids have almost smoothened out. Stratia has come out with a lipid gold eye cream. (The BOJ revive eye cream made new deep crow's feet and new terrible under eye wrinkles appear with one use. (I have been using 0.1% tretinoin for my face × 2yrs.) Went to a gathering, late afternoon (4pm), back to the sun while eating, sat in a swing as sun was setting, to my right. Only other thing, I shaved my face that morning with La Roche Posay Lipikar + wash. Used Drmtlgy Soothe and Recovery cream, last night and tonight, followed by Cicaplast Balm. I don’t have any of the products you are using, 😢, but you can bet I will have soon! What did I do wrong? 😢

Oooh. Well, shaving increases absorption (shh don’t tell the macho type of guy this fact, but men’s skincare is more gentle in consideration of them shaving their faces 🤐) - so it could have actually been a product that you can use otherwise. Or a reaction to shaving, possibly. Very hard to say for sure, but frustrating regardless. Hope your skin bounces back quickly!!

I think the best way for barrier repair is to leave skin on its own for some time, just use a basic oclusive moisturizer. That would help skin the most and that's what every dermatologist would advice in this situation.

@heathersargent289 the Peach &Lily cleansing oil is sooooo good although expensive at regular price. I've gone through 4 bottles at this point. The texture is like a gel/thick oil, and some people don't like that - but it's sooo nice. The rovectin lotus toner is very watery but my skin seems to really "calm down" when I use it. I've gone through 3 bottles of it. I've also recently added the Peach & Lily Wild Dew Essence and it's really made my skin brighter. Lately, I've been loving everything from P&L.
