There is something about Andre and Alicia together. An embrace, a race to the finish line! Mozart was Andre’s fave composer, and it shows.

Finally a (much more than) decent recording [edit two days later: perfect] after listening to three others that i wish to forget that were listed first on a youtube search, including other big names that obviously do not get Mozart (argerich/barenboim). This one is infinitely better in every possible way. This recording gets better each time it is re-heard, an unmistakable sign of good taste and higher musicianship (the corollary is true with poor interpretations, each listening becomes more tedious). The gradation of nuances here are sublime, the command of time is perfect, nothing is rushed just pure music as it must have sounded in the composer's intention. I am sure Mozart would have cried from joy listening to these two fantastic pianists. The quality of the sound they produce seems to inscribe itself perfectly in time. The slow end of the second movement is amazing it transports you into a not easily accessible Mozartian vision and i think it is the heart of this piece and yet i could not have said this from the three other interpretations I listened before. This is just amazing by any comparison. I am on my second [edit: fifth] listening and oh my god this is even better [perfection] than I thought. Major accomplishment in this recording, this will not be lost to me.

Alicia de LaRocca was a fabulous concert pianist!! I saw her play in a concert once, on her last tour of the U.S. She was a very tiny,short woman with very small hands!And she was in her 70's then! She was such an outstanding,brilliant world class artist! It is amazing that she could perform this extremely difficult and beautiful concerto so beautifully with such tiny hands and stature? Every note is clear , her phrasing is gorgeous! This is a very musical performance of Rachmaninoff 3rd...very clear,very expressive and romantic! Her playing continues to be an inspiration! but he was a madman if the movie is to be believed. No doubt the result of his father watching over his shoulder and demanding a genius which he got.
@johnstaf6 жыл бұрын
There is no historical evidence that Mozart was a "madman".
@voxveritatis38156 жыл бұрын
As a matter of fact, some misinterpreted Mozart's natural inclination to freedom, rebellion, and self-determination as a symptom of madness. Along with his tendency to break up with pretentiousness, and his natural rejection to ostentation, there's no doubt that his personality can be considered eccentric. Now, from that to even suggest he was a "madman", not even close. By reading his letters, one immediately understands the great mind and human being behind them.

Esto es música no como la versión ultra acelerada de Argerich-Kisim
Andre Previn must have been quite a good pianist if he was able to keep up with a pianist who would ordinarily have been far superior in other repertoire.
