I’m shocked to see the debate here. She was a loving wife and mother, and had many friends and admirers in the musical community. Perhaps her style of playing was closer to Spanish music, with its strong rhythms and beats, than French music, which glides more like the French language. I’m sure Ravel himself would have enjoyed how she played this.

But that’s my opinion. Your opinion is certainly incorrect and ignorant from a musical point of view. It was pithy and mean spirited of you to express it. You are also incorrect from a personal point of view. Having met her several times, I was struck my her kindness and consideration. Qualities so evidently lacking in you.
