Alicia Keys is one of the few in the industry that I think actually stays true to herself. She's so real. That is why I loooooovvve her but that is also why I think she is not as popular as other mainstream artists.

I'm speechless. This is so real, soulful, powerful. Alicia always says how much she loves her city, Empire State Of Mind is the anthem of the glowing, majestic side of New York, but this time she's showing us the most hidden side, the reality of Brooklyn and Harlem, not Manhattan anymore. And I think that the reason why this feels so real is that she grew up in there, with a lonely mother, in a one room house, she knows what she's talking about. Songs In A Minor, one of her most acclaimed albums, was the result of this reality, I'm so happy she decided to return to her roots and be her most true, honest self. This album is going to be amazing.

Angel San I agree! Music like hers is hard to find (and I'm not talking about her style, I mean music that has something to say, not songs written just to sell), but unfortunately I feel like the medias would rather focus on "shocking" or "impactful" artists, even if their works are so "eye-catching" for the wrong reasons. I feel like now it's easier for artists to become relevant for how they dress and who they cheat on than for the quality of the music they produce. It's sad, but I'm happy there are still honest artists like Alicia that stand out just for their talent.

forget Lemonade...this Gospel right here? this is the Truth!!! The Gospel is a timeless masterpiece. A.Keys is the definition of an artiste of our generation. God, I love this so much, the visuals & how she captures the essence of hiphop, while letting the world know what it means to be born & raised in New York...I'm not originally from NY, but i live here & i can relate to how this city has impacted her life & her music. i could watch this video all day. Beautiful

God, i just love this woman. I feel so connected to her, i feel like she knows me and i know her. She feels my sorrows and my most happiest moments of my life. I would like all the people in the world to know their true self and how much they are worth. To love and cherish every moment of this life and everyone around them, because an unexpected day comes and they are no longer with us and so have passed on to the afterlife. Parents, please know that every decision you make is crucial to your children's growth. The way you speak, treat, and teach them, has a major impact on how they will handle the world. Be grateful for this life, for what you have and have not, God created you to be an amazing creature. Believe it and teach it to others. Stay Bless!

I just LOVE that Alicia has stayed true to herself and sound from beginning to the current place she is now. She isn't caught up in what everyone's doing. She hasn't had some crazy childhood fame drama. And she's amazing at everything she does. I'm so happy she's done this BEAUTIFUL, RAW, REAL look into her hometown. I'm so happy to be from NYC seeing this and I'm even more happy that this wasn't negative. I LOVE when artists use their platform to bring light to important topics. I love how this initiates positive conversations which gives us the opportunity to grow from each other's experiences, offer more of our gifts for the greater good, and appreciate life more.

When I shared Holy War with a friend, they told me something I agreed with totally. Alicia Keys is no longer trying to get fans. Her music now is not so that people can love her,she is writing music and connecting with people on a different dimension. For her,it's about the talent not money anymore.

*NOW THIS DESERVES ALBUM OF THE YEAR.* This was better than a whole bunch of overrated albums this year. This was so real, comprehensible, philosophical and brilliantly beautiful. I believe a broader range of people can CONNECT to this. Reminds me of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It was so authentic - like AKeys herself who is so talented and smart, she doesn't rely on sex, drugs, liquor, hoeing or any other gimmick to be cool and make money. Other artists (you know who!) are brainwashing the youth. There are themes and a discourse in this that is greater than gender, race, sexuality, culture etc. This moved me!!

Alicia Keys!! You are like my younger sister from another mother, I SWEAR!!! The similarities are crazy! When you talk about being solicited and how it made you hide & start dressing down, not wanting to wear dresses & skirts! That is SO ME!!

Even though I don't relate to this, nor do I agree whatsoever with how these people think... I really commend Alicia 100% on CREATION. It seems like this concept of "creativity" just died in like 2009/2010ish with all these new artists and stayed stagnant the whole time. I just want to see people producing things that are DIFFERENT. That express themselves... And that aren't so cookie cutter all the time. Good for her and let's keep it up.

NYCITY3 I believe she was referring to today's artists, since she does go on to talk about how creativity has died with these new artists . Not always about race my friend

I have been transported to God's Holy Presence. Oh Sweet Jesus tis so good to worship you with this blessed hymns. I mean I am feeling all "floaty" (if that is even a word) but in my heart there is this warm fuzzy feeling like it is about to burst and I am smiling so much. It is really heaven on earth. Bless the soul who took the time to compile these hymns May God embarrass you with favor all round. You are mightily blessed Emmanuel and Shalom to you.
