Freedman dyson said that meeting an extraterrestrial species would be very bad for humanity. Why would aliens want to share technology with a species who could barely understand it. It is terrifying if we are alone or if we aren't. Great story.

The story reminds of the reapers from Mass Effect series that comes to the milky way every 50,000 years to let life and civilization develop and flourish only to be harvested when they are at their peak of civilization advancement before they destroy themselves with their AI development. Those reapers keep evolving based on the genetic material they harvest.

I like there chicken. Probably a common enough feeling but it's definatly good. I don't think I've ever had red beans and rice there but I'm gonna check it out I was gonna go to fusion sushi but that does sound better. These hideous alien "Space-Born" monstrosities are truly cosmic Lovecraftian horrors. Despite Anna's assertions, I seen no gentleness, kindness or goodness in them. I especially see no beauty in the aliens described in this story. It would be the duty of all humanity to fight them, even to the death. In their evil, they have assimilated all decent life. Do not go gently into their evil night. I agree with BOBO completely and oppose Anna and Grandfather utterly. To me, this story is a warning of what the Transhumanist Movement may one-day bring to the human race.

@@invisiblejaguar1 Writer here. And yeah. The assimilation aspect was inspired by the Borg, but the rest had a different symbolic purpose than what the Borg actually represent. The "choice" is a question of how you want to join them. By accepting and becoming a Spaceborn eventually, or by just becoming fodder for their body mod fashion. I'm simplifying it a bit, but the rest should be up to you to interpret. I always think that too much (additional and outside the story) description from the side of the writer leaves less room for the imagination of the audience.

very nice, this story is a real good portrayal of the dark forest theory, except instead of us, and every other race hiding from the all consuming alien race that integrates or destroys everything it touches, they already found us all.

Writer here again. There are hints about how the aliens look like in the story itself. But the whole idea is that they are pretty much indescribable since all look so different to each other. Same goes for the tech (yes, including the ships). I can tell ya that they look magical. Some imagination might be required to visualize them for yourself.

It's in the story. What? Each of the aliens changes their body according to what they like and what is in fashion on the ship. Using gene modification the same way as royals would use materials for their clothing. How? Mostly by modification done to their very genes. How the technology would work? I don't know. They're ancient aliens, I'm sure it's very complex for a simple human like me to understand.

@@tijanska Hey how ya doing. The quality of story is perfectly fine. I enjoyed it and my first time hearing the person doing the narration. She did really well I like her! I listened to the whole thing. I wish I can write as good as you lol. Anyway, I didn’t get any of the creepy vibes because I believe it had lack of suspense only due to the perspective the story had. It felt more like pure sci fi then horror sci fi.

I agree with the sister and bobo and the rest of them are making themselves out to be some hero standing on the morel high ground but it's a fact that to advance, sacrifice must be made. Ya some humans had to die in the beginning but when it's over they will become immortalized in history. Let's be honest if humans were left to themselves they world eventually kill themselves into extinction and if you don't agree then look at today's society in America, people would rather argue about how many genders their are or whether or not they can identify as a f*cling helicopter than talk about how to fix the real problems plaguing our world.
