here's an idea: keep marshal on your island and have him play the horror movie protagonist !! you could even give him different outfits to fit horror movie stereotypes. his house could be the suburb where spooky things happen.. maybe an x files area? and THEN you get ione and marshal falls in love with the alien girl next door and they have a forbidden romance

Horrorcore for Mothman sounds amazing. Maybe Maggie could be part of like a lost through time and space area? Since her entire existence was unknown and she just happened to appear on the Nook Miles island as you were talking about her. Sounds like dimensional wormhole traveling to me.

I’m so excited to see this horrorcore island come to life! I could imagine the villagers each representing a sort of fear/villains for the horror movies you want to kind of represent. Like Muffy the witch/occultist, Roscoe the vampire or some kind of suave monster(?); Maggie could be the sweetheart who survives to the end. Hopkins could be the fear of inanimate objects coming to life or some kind of haunted toy motif? Could also see Ione and/or Roswell could be a great horror movie of aliens! Ooh I’m so excited to see it all come together! 💕

Lots of witches are goths, like my best friend for example. Of course she could work for either if we were going off Christian propaganda stories though.

Another great theme (considering its called Mothman) would be cryptidcore! You could have custom patterns with bigfoot trails (and Hans the villager!!), a Chupacabra sighting, Lake loch ness with warning signs all around it etc. AND you could still have aliens! (Or just make a "cryptid" area in the horrorcore island of course!!)

Glad to see Mothman again! That was one of my favorite streams to listen to when finishing a major assignment for grad school. Usually, when there's a villager I love but don't think they'll fit in long-term, I take them anyway and then try to get their photo. And now that we build vacation houses for them, I don't have to feel as bad because I can always see them at the archipelago.

There's a lot of villagers that are good for this theme that wouldn't get a lot of love otherwise since cutesy themes are the ones you see normally, so I'm sure whatever lineup you wind up with is going to be super cool! OOOOOH horrorcore! i might have a cool idea for the area where your villagers live. you know how a lot of slasher films take place in the suburbs? WHAT IF you make a suburban neighborhood for your villagers, but have it all decorated like some killer has been let loose in the neighborhood and we're seeing the aftermath. like maybe blood stain patterns, maybe a chainsaw left in someone's yard, using the rescue mannequin object as a dead body!?!? you could do SO MUCH with that. i think that could be cool! also maybe for your house you could live in a big spooky mansion at the top of a hill in the back of the neighborhood or somewhere else in town!

I follow casual geographic (aka hood nature), and u both go off on animal facts but on, like, opposite sides of the spectrum (idk what that spectrum is but there is a spectrum and u two are on opposite sides of it).
