The only game ever that i freaked out in fear. It was after meeting the alien for the first time, when we have to escape some sort of lab. I tried to run all the time when i was near the exit and the alien killed me everytime. I started to feel desperate and was scared how intelligent the alien was. Later i learned to navigate slowly and it was easier. But that was probably the scariest moment in gaming for me. The first time i faced a truly smart enemy in a game.

The AI of Xenomorph was ahead of its time. Someone explained in a video, that the longer you stay on one hiding spot, or the more you use hiding spots(lockers), the more chance that the alien will check on lockers. The more you use items to distract it, the more chance it will start ignoring the distractions and go straight to attack you.

La IA deel alien esta rota, es injusta, en si momento habian dicho que aprendia de tus movimientos pero al final se demostro que su IA esta mal diseñada hasta el punto que cuando te escondes por alguna razon te encuentra a varios metors de distancia y en el DLC donde controlas a la madre no tiene sentido, hay partes que debes pasar con sigilo. Pero llega un momento donde el alien te sigue sin corre como si le pasara slgo raro, osea, el alien sabe donde estas pero la IA de vez en cuando la interrumpe.

@@Roblox-Pro77127 think i seen somewhere that the alien is coded with basically two brains, one brain knows where you always are in the map and the other brain is feeding the alien clues to where you are, so basically the alien always knows where you are and then depending on your playstyle it’ll basicaly work out where in that area you are when it appears

​@@darraghconnolly2553 yeah, it knows the area you are in, and the area shrinks as it searches, so eventually it WILL find you if you dont move. if you always hide in the same places it will start looking in them. if you always use the flamer it will take more to scare it off and it wont be as effective, it wont be distracted by noisemakers as much either. its important to constantly change your strategy and never run so it doesnt learn and stays in the vents as long as possible. when i play i almost never hide in lockers and rarely use my tools so that they stay strong when i need them. even on nightmare its possible to ghost it for most of the game as long as you arent stupid.

@@ChildOfTheWilderness In game mechanics terms the alien 100% can see. It has a visual cone in which it will 'see' you, the accuracy of thisd varies with difficulty level. In lore terms; nobody knows if they can 'see' but they have eye sockets under the dome (referencing Big Chap from Alien, who is the prime case and the creature the Isolation version was based on).

The Xenomorph in Alien Isolation is actually coded to learn how you play and seek you out in your normal play style. If you like hiding in lockers or vents for instance, it will look for you in the places you prefer. Very scary indeed, one of the best examples of a Xenomorph in an Alien game to this day.

okay so, here's what happened: you were in the dark BUT shadow and darkness has no effect at all on the Xenos vision, it would be like standing in the wide open under a light because it can see you just as well either way. the alien "randomly" looked in your general direction, which put you inside its broad vision cone, the biggest vision cone which wont auto detect you outright but instead make the alien more aware of your over a short period until it fully realizes you're there, once that happens it attacks. the Xeno can also see you in line of sight underneath tables and other things usually something interesting by the way is allefedly the alien has somewhere around 3x or 3.5x the health of a working joe, but you'll never survive long enough to kill it

I love this game, I’ve got it for all of my consoles there’s actually two forms of AI that control the alien one is constantly aware of your exact location and whenever you’re moving around in the open it will alert the Alien AI to come out of the air ducts to hunt you occasionally… so long as you’re not sprinting around too much, if you’re running around a lot the Alien will appear very quickly and go straight after you and even if you manage to take cover or hide while it’s chasing you for example if you break it’s line of sight by rounding a corner and quickly hiding it generally doesn’t help (despite what the tips in the loading screens say about that…) it’ll still catch you as you hear it run stomping towards your position. The Alien AI which works independently from the Alerting AI which is what you have to deal with when the Alien is roaming the halls searching for you it’s honestly freighting and there’s only three ways around it, the flamethrower, Molotov cocktails, and staying crouched with continuous movement towards your objective if you hide for too long in a spot then it will quickly become wise to your position because the Alert AI will call it back into the vents for a few seconds and then send it back down to right where you are or it’ll wait until you move away from cover and catch you on the other side of a door or vent that’s near you. Move slowly and stay in the aliens blind spots when you’re unarmed, keep your eyes on the alien to predict it’s movements and when you get the motion tracker don’t use it while hiding in lockers or those two door cabinets because it can hear the sounds the tracker makes while it’s active… and only use vents to move around or hide when necessary or as a last resort otherwise avoid them like the plague 😂 oh yeah and you can use the hostile human NPCs as an excellent distraction for getting around the alien as it will go after them first so move as quickly and quietly as possible when it goes after them and be careful of where you hide in that situation because the NPCs that don’t try to fight the alien will actually run straight towards you and the alien will follow. Lastly I’ll say this, it would be awesome if the developers would add in a mode to the storyline where you get to play as the Alien in either first person or third person. This is the most realistic and frightening Alien I’ve ever seen in a video game, it’s freaking awesome.

As I've heard, it has two AIs. One always knows where you are, but tells to the other one only if you're getting too far away from the xenomorph. That's how it always follows you, but has to search once it gets close to you.

I like this concept of there being to AIs for the Alien. One knows where you are and the second controls the alien. The 2nd gets hints from the 1st ai as to where you are and here you can see its gears turning.

Here I am, 2024. Playing for the first time. Alien killed me 4 times in a row trying to get in Dr Morley's lab for his Key card. Finally remembered the passcode after the third time. The alien had just escaped into the ceiling vents to stop searching. I thought I was safe, as I punched in the code and the door opened only for him to be waiting on the other side 🎉 logged right off, and straight Into Aliens fireteam elite for some horde style killing of that bastard 😂
