Professor Brightscale is a wonderful example of a teacher and researcher! Though everything he taught before was proven wrong, he was excited about the new possibilities of study! He embraced it enthusiastically and revised his previous books and papers. He encouraged his students to explore the new field!

Absolutely! Wonderfully written character. The initial shock at making all his theories proven wrong makes him believable and relatable, then his eagerness to continue and update his life's work by integrating new evidences makes him a prime example of what science is when done properly. Very well done!

Wonderful story of a teacher so stuck in his own dogma that he cannot see beyond it. It's like a college professor, sitting on a beach, lecturing students about mermaid myths, only to have a real live mermaid pop up out of the water behind him and wave to the students!

Somehow the ambassadors i have seen, and military personel in smilar ranks were not capable of sprinting 30 minutes, doing backflips and parkour. Also, the "keep on going while injured and in pain" is something pretty normal among the living beings on earth. While all these videos suggest that humans are somehow more capable, we are the only species on our planet using pain killers. And that for thousands of years. (willow bark contains what is called aspirin as medication) No elefant, tiger, hyena, crow, whale... has that luxury. They all have to keep on going when injured or in pain.
@TexJester-no8th8 күн бұрын
Actually, some animals do know about some of the plants, including willow bark .. no many, but a few .. And if we didn't push through pain, many of us older people would have given up YEARS ago!! 🤣
@Onan-u3b6 күн бұрын
@@TexJester-no8th Not just some other animals. Globally, many animals seek out plants that will aid them if ill, most carnivores consume particular grasses and will travel to find them as an aid to digestion. Some animals seek out and consume the fruit, bark or roots of certain plants when ill. In fact, there is a substantial body of evidence that suggests early hominids studied this in order to advance their knowledge.

Yes, yes, human worm babies are known to bounce. Since their bones aren't fully developed. And those Husky dogs that some humans keep certainly seem like they are trying really hard to speak the human language and sing human songs.

The Vietnam war demonstrated the fact that technology doesn't always mean you can win and that with an intimate knowledge of the environment and that using your head and the materials at hand and some determination does. These stories reflect this but it's still a hard life lesson for some people to learn. These lessons are as old as humanity, guess some folk still live with their heads in the clouds

You lost me at “quantum (insert random thing unrelated to quantum physics)”. Other things only ai uses that instantly ruin the story for me include: “broke the laws of physics/biology”, failure to comprehend (insert trait that has evolved several independent times on earth and should be universally understood by complex life, such as endoskeletons, sleep, healing, and/or omnivory), heart attacks being induced by so little stress that it makes redundant hearts useless, and exotic life (usually 3 or more examples) such as a gelatinous life form, a crystalline entity that communicates through refraction AND vibration (but develops fractures as a stress response which would make such means of communication impossible), quantum entities that exist in multiple states simultaneously and/or experience time nonlinearly (yet supposedly still follow along with a lecture happening in a linear time scale well enough to be worth addressing), a colonial organism that’s shaped itself into (insert miscellaneous mundane object), a being with psychic and/or telepathic abilities, a gaseous organism (just casually existing in an atmosphere that should realistically rip them to shreds in seconds), and a “hive mind” that’s not a hive mind (either consists of a single organism or has no form of unifying consciousness between its individual members. I’m not asking that the hive mind lack individuals, just that it has a form of unified awareness and doesn’t place a high value on individuality)
