With this said, of all the games coming out this year, I'm most excited for Rogue Incursion. I've always wanted a game where you can fight back, with good AI, Aliens that can come from any surface or any direction, great graphics with emphasis on lighting and volumetric fog-thick 3d mist that doesn't disappear when you get close (next gen, Alien Isolation doesn't have that-and looks it's age next to R:I) and unpredictable placement of enemies at least-a roguelike. Ideally, I also want to be lost; with procedural level generation. R:I ticks all of those boxes, except the last. 5 of 6. AVP only ticks 2 or three. And in VR, with motion controls. If that's not scary enough, how about having to reload every bullet one at a time with your revolver. It's hard to even put in a clip and rack the slide in VR, whilst under pressure.

This looks like a love letter to Alien and Aliens. Fede said that during auditions all actors were asked if they've seen the originals and someone said "yes, I've seen the first two: Prometheus and Covenant", and Fede was thinking "yeah, you aint't getting the role". Some might say knowledge of source material is not as important as getting the right actor for the role, but recent experience would argue the opposite (Henry Cavill and Witcher, Ella Purnell and Fallout), and it mirrors the production team's respect towards the source material. It looks to me like Fede respects his elders and isn't suffering from "adapting for modern audiences" affliction affecting many directors nowadays. I'm feeling optimistic.

God, I burst out laughing when I saw that it was two bodies being dragged away.. no, not because I thought it was poorly done or silly, but because I realized how amazingly vicious this film is going to be. My God, Fede is going to kill EVERYONE, and I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to kill off the main leads as well.. but that would piss off too many fans. And if anyone had doubts about the acting skills, I hope this scene kills those doubts. This was also a nice hommage to the queen stomping around in Aliens. Mein Gott, this film is going places!!!!!
