Welcome and sorry for the slight delay as it took me a few days to analyse and edit etc. One thing I forgot to speak on was the awesome use of the thumping sound that correlates to the alien's entrance into the world. It was a nice trailer mechanic I thought. I will be delving into some theories and having some more fun with ideas based on what we have seen so far pretty soon. So stick around for future content or subscribe if you're not and if you are or are not hyped for this film, I think I'm gonna stay neutral until I see it at the cinema for myself.

So, the lift / elevator scene and the snapping jaws hopefully deliver that’s because. There has obviously been a lot of work gone into Romulus just looking at the concept art. Alverez is clearly a fan who's also trying to bring something new to the table, while at the same time keeping Romulys familiar, with a mixture of mostly practical fx, great sets and the usual dose of cgi. @ryanzeid1465 ай бұрын
I don’t think it was necessarily a fake out. I think it was intended to be in the film, but for whatever reason Scott decided to cut it. It was a great shot, but maybe it was part of a whole sequence that Scott omitted due to pacing and runtime issues. He’s pretty notorious for wanting his non-epic films to be right around 2 hours, and sometimes that means cutting out shots or whole sequences that many fans would’ve loved to see in the film. Actually, even one of his epics, Kingdom of Heaven, had an entire plot line removed which, when put back in for the director’s cut, made the film significantly better. So, Scott has some questionable skills when it comes to editing and pacing decisions.

I rarely hear people talk about the blue light actually being a human made movement scanner that was left there before the events in the first movie by Weyland Yutani in order to know if any face hugger had left or if any human had actually came close enough to possibly trigger the hatching of the eggs. Eggs the company thus already knew were there. The crew of the Nostrono may have not expected this tech to be human or the company could care less if their involvement was known to the crew as they had an Android aboard that could make sure no one survived to tell about it. The viewer assumes it was part of the Xenomorph hive or maybe from the Engineers who may have been transporting it, but none of that was ever confirmed and it was actually shown that the eggs later never had the blue laser and since the engineer pilot had died from a chest burster the laser was likely not from them since it would've warned it that a facehugger had escaped. The laser was shown as human tech in the second film. So imho the laser has always been from Wayland Yutani and also in this film may be from them making sure something or someone gets notified as soon as the laser is breached. I do hope Alvarez and his team took all this into account and we don't get questioning what it is or get shown some strange reason how the aliens produce a laser of all things. Although I would love to see while at the same time don't understand yet how it would contribute to the story much they show us a flashback of Wayland Yutani finding the eggs leaving the laser and then later find out their initial plan had failed and that if they wanted an adult alien to study they would have to retrieve it's body because the establishment of the colony would take another few years. Anyways I'm hyped that the laser is even in the movie, now indeed let's hope that it serves an actual purpose rather than fan service.
@ENTERTAINtheDUDE5 ай бұрын
Very interesting thoughts buddy. I suppose you can pick holes in it like any theory of course but what you said feels very valid to me. I assume that the laser was part of the engineer tech personally but it's never explained so who knows and that's the beauty of mystery I guess. If the light is a stasis field then I also hope we get some better explanation.

Thanks very much. I'll try to do some research into the existing lore of a king and add it into my videos, np. Initially, without knowing too much about a king species (I realise that he exists in the comics and novels), I feel that in Romulus that it could be slightly cheesy and a bit on the nose to insert a king. Almost like trying to one up the Queen from Aliens etc. but then it could be an amazing idea if it becomes a subtle reveal at the end of the film and only hints that this creature is more powerful during the course of the film.

@ENTERTAINtheDUDE I mean, I'm not expecting anyone to survive except for the lead actress (and maybe the android), but the way this trailer shows us exactly who is dead & how they die is extremely dumb! It robs the film of suspense & makes it all the more predictable. The vibe I am getting from this is not unlike 2010's Predators. A film which looked great & had some genuinely great ideas. But in the end the experience was ruined by far too many "homages" & an over-reliance on tropes which were fine decades ago, but today are old hat! The last two were awful, the casting, writing, so pretentious, I wish they would recognize what made the first two films great, each character was fleshed out, no one was over acting, and until close to the end of the first movie we didn't who the survivor would be, it was rare to have a woman do that on her own, she was tough but didn't neuter the male cast, has common sesne, and depth. The two last movies the female characters were one dimensional, the male characters were disposable, they did nonsensical things like take off masks on an unexplored planet,,I can go on like that ship rolling after the ladies (who ran straight for wtf ever reason), I didn't root for any of them, or care,,,Ridley, like Cameron allowed his ego to take over,,,I really was confused as to what was actually happening,,so pretentious, I found each actor to be stiff, uninspired, and clueless, and enough with the evil Android bs who wants to destroy earth and take over,,I mean wtf? I saw the original Alien in The theater, it was terrifying, and the sequel was outstanding. Keep it simple, cast intresting sctors, spare the woke message,,just make a good scary sci fi film,,or change the name and do something original for once...
