Here's a theory - She was captured and the Narcisssus was docked and while she continued to be in cryosleep Rook accessed her memories and the flight recorder and it was due to this data he was able to pin-point the approximate location of the Xenomorph being ejected. Since Ripley had corrupted/destroyed some of the data from the flight recorder, Rook was keeping her on ship until he was able to decode it, in the meantime the Xenomorph cuccoon was retrieved and brought back to Romulus and then the alien wreaked havoc on the space station due to which Rook was unable to undock the Narcissus from the space station, which ultimately happened at the end when the space station crashed. If you pause to really think about this you will realize, how is it that Narcissus was able to survive in space for 57 years without refueling? The events in Alien Romulus they needed fuel for 9 years of space travel to Ivaga and Ripley floated in space for 57 years without refueling? It's obvious that when she docked at Romulus, the Narcissus was refueled which is why she survived in space that long until being found 37 years later.

I love this theory and actually think it is a shame Fede etc didn't lean in more (note I have never read any of the novels or played the games, just enjoyed all the films). The harpoon gun still being wedged behind the door implies, to me, that the cable is still attached to the harpoon in the big chap alien. How about the cocoon being towed behind the Narcissus? Surely the saviour pod/shuttle would have a homing beacon? Wouldn't that be easier to locate in space than the cocoon? Also Ripley's log would be in the system on the Narcissus not the Nostromo black box (as this would only contain info up to the self destruct). What if Weyland Yutani went looking for the Nostromo in the last known location (as the company ordered them to go there). Find the black box, get excited and now know to look for the Narcissus. Find it. Reviving Ripley creates all sorts of issues and frankly why do they need her because they have the cocoon and their prize. So leave Ripley in the cryo chamber until deciding what to do. Then all goes to crap. This also ties back into the short films with Alien Covenant where David transmits back to the company so they KNOW about xenomorphs and black goo.

I watched AvPGalaxy's interview with Fede Alvarez last night, it's pretty great he took over 2 hours 15mins to answer nerdy questions about Romulus. In it he made kinda clear that the Narcissus is not just an easteregg. WY recovered it before they recovered Big Chap so that they remote accessed the Narcissus' flight recorder to get the last coordinates of the Nostromo is the simplest and most likely exlanation, no need for them to enter the shuttle or even wake up Ripley. He also made a weird a remark that somebody might have jumped on board the shuttle before it was ejected from the station, and mentions that he is a fan of the novel Out of the Shadows in which Ash had transfered his conciousness into the Narcissus' mainframe... so that was very likely his intend that Rook did the same. He also made clear that he or anybody else couldn't do any re-writes to his script since they shot Romulus during the WGA strike. So my theory is that one of his artists, set designers or so suggested to incoparate the Narcissus as design element but he couldn't write anything specifically to include it plausibly into the script. It's a great interview I can recommend to chek it out, and while I do have issues with Fede's writing his direction is certainly good and he's just a very down to earth and nice guy, and ofc a big Alien fan himself what he made clear very often before. Maybe we are a bit too harsh to him, bc when you can't do re-writes on set you can't add great ideas cast and crew might come up with... but on that note it was also his idea to include the callback lines, and while he has a certain reasoning for why he included them I'm still not a fan of it at all and dodn't agree with him that it is a good idea!

Was highly anticipating your next installment. Was not disappointed, and the fresh takes on these aspects of Riply and Big Chap raise questions, and further interest and offer a very tantalizing few minutes of theorizing, reflection, imagination and in some cases a thought of "oh why couldn't have R Scott done this in stead of that". Again very well presented and enjoyed the deeper discussions inviting us along with your stroy and hypotheses. For me the departure from the original Alien lore (as in Prometheus and Covenant) have not added as much as they have detracted from the wonder and magic that is the Alien story arc. But love them or hate them we have these now and if they are considered canon then at least please don't treat the fans as idoits, with mediocre lazy writing and cheap fan service - in the name of being creative. Ranting complete, then I must also ask some questions previously aired on this channel: Big Chap was incinerated and we saw it being blown to bits in the first Alien (also in the comic adaptation of Alien) by the Narcissus's inferno-like thrusters. Then the harpoon which penetrated Big Chap's abdomen only to remain attached to its dorsal side. I though it had acid blood and that would also have dissolved steel or titanium given enough time. Since that Alien was thus imapled then the vaccum of space plus the damage from the blast of the engine would have most likely meant what's left of it would have simply been sucked out due to zero pressure -in space. It would not have enough time to fabricate a cocoon or at least not with its critical injuries. When the Nostromo self-destructed its hyper drive cores (3/4) went critical and then exploded as in a nuclear fusion bomb would. I am not a nuclear scientist but have enough basic understanding that from even a small yield device anyhting within a radius of a couple of hundred meters would instantly vaporise. The Nostromo would certainly vanish but the attached refinery complex would have been blown apart due to the immense explosions. Science Fiction is very appealing because it is based upon science but also it expands the premise by imaginatively suspending reality and showing us things that may be puzzling or fascinating, thrilling or horrifying. But never stupid, illogical or silly. Therefore, I see far too many inconsistencies and giant plot holes- chasims even, that really spoil the spirit of the whole enterprise and defeat the purpose of having a sequel. Whether Riply was rescued before or after Big Chap remains to be seen in future installments. It was very sad to see Big Chap gutted and a pathetic carcas, on the Romulus Station, thus once again trashing the lore unnecessarily. It would have been far better to leave the fate of the Original Zenomorph a mystery. It is very possible to obtain samples of DNA from the face hugger which the original Ash could have done off screen. Then send the sequence via subspace communication back to WY HQ and labs would have re-generated the entire DNA sequence from scratch (as we are able to do now on microorganisms). We literally can cook bacteria and virusus in the lab and manipulate their genome. No big deal. So the premise of the Big Chap re-capture, DNA extraction, revers-engineering the vene more ridiculous 'black goo' is far too superflous. You were right on point that some small amounts of DNA could have been obtained by a very thorough - a forensic - investigation scanning and analysis of any biological samples of slime, extretion or secretions when the Big Chap hid itself in the Narcissus. Finally, and perhaps most impotantly, the Xenomorph biology and physiology are not entirely organic. It was clearly observed earlier on that both the Jugegrnaut space Derelict, Space Jocky and the Alien were all 'Biomechanoid'. Therefore how easy would it have been for WY to re-synthesise a face hugger from simply back-engineering the black goo? That was the fundamental flaw in Prometheus and Covenant and the idea that David created the Xenomorph somehow by studying the properties of the black goo. A cop out. We just do not have the necessary knowhow or technology high enough to the level of the original Space Jocky race and world - they were literally light years ahead of humanity and thus a very prized trophy to capture. Conclusion: This Alien Rediculous stroy - well, It does not compute!
@ENTERTAINtheDUDE25 күн бұрын
Hello buddy. Read all your points. I would love to know if their acid has any effect in space. If not, then it may help explain how the xeno survived after the harpoon's impaling. But then, as you say, there are so many plot holes and problems emerging from lazy ideas that are born only out of convenience. Therefore, you are completely right to voice your concerns over this franchise, and I think most would agree. You ended up talking about David, and this is honestly the only part of the franchise that I can never get my head around, and I don't think the problem is me, haha! David's experiments have created this whole chicken or the egg conundrum that has overcomplicated everything in such a bad way. I refuse to believe that David did anything that hadn't been achieved before by the ancient race, and therefore, David's story is not special. I had to chuckle when you said about extracting face-huggers from the black goo ;) I agree how silly it is that not only could they birth a perfect face-hugger in a lab but they even designed artificial eggs for them. I would have to assume the goo is only a catalyst for such outcomes when combined with other life. Surely it would just form something out of nothing. But then perhaps they extracted something from big chap also. Hopefully the franchise will grow up a bit in the near future. Thanks for watching buddy, take care.

Alien Romulus is a fanfiction written by an A.I. , and based on previous fanfictions. No need to elaborate. The only hope for the franchise is that they start from the beginning and make a serious sequel of the original film. Cameron ''Vietnam in space'' was cool but clearly miss the points.

@bell.e1969Ай бұрын
@ENTERTAINtheDUDE sadly in your case this does NOT depend on what an individual identifies as Canon. ALIEN : OUT OF THE SHADOWS is Canon to the ALIEN Franchise. It is set 37 years after ALIEN. Whereas Romulus is set 17 years after ALIEN. Meaning "ASH" Would have still been in full control of the Narcissus Shuttle during the time of ROMULUS. Had you had included this information into your Theory; it would have strengthened it. But your lack of it's inclusion leads me to believe You didn't listen/read it all.
@HaloMasamune27 күн бұрын
@@bell.e1969 Gonna say this as nicely as I can - but insisting any piece of supplementary material like comics or novels are "canon" will always be dumb. They'll be considered "official canon" long enough to sell them to hardcore fans, and then ejected from canon when it's no longer convenient. That's how it has always worked with every franchise and that will never change. It's ridiculous to think otherwise, and there's zero reason to militantly defend any kind of "official canon" - particularly when a putz like Ridley Scott and a company like Disney controls the franchise.
@bell.e196926 күн бұрын
@@HaloMasamune I am going to say THIS as nicely as I can. All "ALIEN" titled novels/Audiodramas written and created; and then publicly released and sold as an "ALIEN" title, is CANON. As it has been Copy-written and licenced to be marketed for release and sale; as an "ALIEN" Franchise title. Which whether Anyone likes it or not, makes it Canon. Which cannot be contested regardless of what anyone's personal opinion on the matter resides. This is the same with Every kind of Franchise; by copywritten laws, the only exceptions apply with all forms of fan fiction. There are many factors why production would disregard other content, however if the content is already released/sold as canon to this date, no production can disregard it in any way. That is by again Copyright laws. I know this because just like Neil Blomkamp I also wrote a story to pitch for an ALIEN5 movie, which would be a direct follow up from ALIENS. My story also disregarded ALIEN3 and RESURRECTION, which is why it was rejected for pitch. By Copyright laws and licensing for the rights of certain characters regarded as already CANON to the Franchise. So what is ridiculous here is how you've come for me with your personal opinion on the fact of certain material being regarded as CANON to the Franchise or not. That's Your Opinion and although you're entitled to have it, it does NOT make it correct in any which way or form. All Material released and sold as CANON is CANON by Laws and rights attained to release and sell them as So. So if you are disregarding any Material then that is on a Personal level, like it or not. Yes it's sad there are standing legal bindings withholding certain sequels to be created, so far there's nothing we can do about it. Yes; Ridley Scott, Brandywine and Scottfree productions (and now also DISNEY) have a great say in what goes on with the Franchise's future, but NOT even they can disregard any CANON content. Again there are certain legal bindings which hold to certain character's and their involvement in subsequent released material; whether that be Novels, Audiodramas, Comics/Animes, Computer/Console games, Animated Features/Series and Feature Films. The main licenced character of this franchise is obviously "RIPLEY" If YOU have decided to come for me simply for my regarding CANON material as CANON. Then that is simple on your part, because that's You personally regarding your own opinion over Fact. It is also simple on your part, if you came for me thinking I came for the Author of this Theory video, with my comments to Them. I actually like these Theory videos and watch/follow them especially in regard to this Franchise. I like them because sometimes I agree and think the same, and sometimes they make me question my own possible theories on the franchise which in turn inspires me as a Creative Writer. I actually like this Author's Theory here, however was hoping he'd have included other CANON material to strengthen it. There is the actual possibility that Ripley could have been on the Romulus for certain reasons. Had he of included ALIEN : OUT OF THE SHADOWS, story; there could have been the possibility of "ASH" who had uploaded his A.I. Conscience to the Narcissus, being the one who took her there to the Romulus Station. As at the time of the ROMULUS movie, by CANON material sources; ASH is still in full control of the shuttle she's in. The author however did not include this Canon material by personal choice. As he stated in earlier comments. Does this make me dislike them or their theory? No it does not. I still like their theory and ideas here. So go give your head a good shake. There's plenty of possibilities of the franchise progression here and You don't personally know what new material Authors/Ghostwriters are preparing for release for this Franchise. You regard your own opinions over Facts in regard to what's canon or not, then you're making yourself out to be stupid. Whether You like it or not in this case, guess what; Some of Us out there KNOW BETTER.

Ripley's mindwipe has already been done in Alien out of the shadows and in a non canon Female War (Laurel Lefkow did a fantastic job as Ripley). This is my theory Someone on Sevastopol might have sent the retrieval location of the nostromos blackbox along with new infestation data. Then after about 5 year of preparation they sent a drone ship to collect data and any samples. As the outbreak on the Renaissance proves the lifeform difficult to contain and acid for blood makes transportation a high risk they decided to make Lv426 into a petri dish. but unknown to them Ripley's shuttle was found and because of Burke's greed and goals for promotion ment the experiment was activated too early. In all instances any surviving information collected about the Xenomorph is probably going to be poor at best and a living specimen is the objective. We know one thing for certain someone put Ash on the nostromos with orders human crew expendable. Edit: in the novelization of Alien it starts of about how professional dreamer is a much sought after talent that can be played back for the entertainment of others. The prequels, the AVP films and the up-coming Alien Earth TV series alters all the lore for the franchise. While some don't include the AVP films, it fits the timeline and has Weyland involved via Weyland industries so his son Peter Weyland, would know of the xenomorphs and would inspire Weyland-Yutani interest into acquiring the XX121 Xenomorph in the future. For those who do not include the AVP films, it's a BIG universe and its truly ridiculous that they, the prequels and even ALIEN - that Weyland-Yutani knew of the existence of the XX 121 Xenomorphs via all these films and the new TV series will make it another part of the story. With ALL these parts it sort of makes the series of the franchise truly retarded as the 'company' Weyland-Yutani has known of the XX121 Xenomorph existence and has lost countless people, $billions in revenue via a number of lost spaceships, 2000+ colonists - it just gets beyond ridiculous!

I didn't like “Alien Romulus” and I think that this type of alternate stories widens the gap even further and moves away from the Alien/ Aliens story.

There’s no way they had Ripley or any contact with her in Romulus and do you know why?.. in Aliens with they open the shuttle door the Grapple gun is still jammed in the door from where it landed at the end of Alien.. it’s such a reach to suggest that shuttle was in Romulus it’s embarrassing and just another example of the poor writing in that film.
