People saying Romulus is member berries and fan service, have not watched it. It sits perfectly were it needs to be. It brings all the movies together. All those same fans probably love Wolverine and Deadpool. That movie is absolute trash. No coherent story. Nothing but member berries and cameos. It is an awful movie. So glad I didn’t pay for the tickets. Romulus is an amazing movie. And the ending explains some things and is awesome. It is a home run in my opinion.

To argue what you argue and then say Deadpool and Wolverine was “trash” is incredibly hypocritical. I mean yeah it wasn’t Shakespeare, but neither was Romulus

Then frankly you’re not a very good reviewer. I literally just got out of the theater. The movie starts out with an inciting incident I can’t entirely take seriously (physics says the debris should have flown in all directions rather than being in an identifiable collection, and the Alien should have lost in space). It later has a chestburster mature FAR faster than any we have seen in the series so far. It has some really dumb callbacks regarding lines (inexcusable, they were just dumb). It basically brings back Ash with a less than superbly done deepfake. It tying all the films together was actually the stupidest thing they could have done. Prometheus and Covenant were utter garbage and should have been forcibly shoved down the memory hole. The absolutely BS black goo should have NEVER been so much as mentioned, never mind been plot important. If they had not included it, we would not have had the dumbest, least necessary finale I’ve seen in a movie. It felt tacked on and added even more callbacks. Saying I hated the ending doesn’t even begin to describe it. It made the whole film feel like a remake of the first film, which is the last thing anyone should be going for.

Yeah, I’ve been seeing a lot of 4/10 from Gore, Gary and Drinker’s panel on his After Hours stream. RMB absolutely hated it. Will not be wasting the money on a movie ticket for this Alien movie.

@@OMBReviews I did. They’re being at MOST mildly too critical. I just got back from the theater. The ending practically ruined the movie for me. I’d argue you’re being too lenient. The movie should have run as far away as possible from the utter BS that was Prometheus and Alien Covenant (those movies changed my opinion of Ridley Scott from “good director” to “incompetent hack who got lucky”), and yet the movie tries to tie that crap into the rest of the franchise. Worse, that particular crap ties directly into the ridiculous ending that unnecessarily copies the first film’s ending.
