I wish every show would start with a two minute segment of just what you guys are watching or what you recommend watching
@alexp6015 ай бұрын
Or a weekly segment of that would be good

I do agree. It’s often how I discover a gem of a new show just by someone talking about it. Then I realize I’ve not heard about that show and go check it out. So I agree.
@stevangonzalez59085 ай бұрын
That's actually a good idea. I regularly listen to a Playstation podcast and one of their main segments is "what we're playing" it's a nice palette cleanser and offers up new discoveries or quick discussions about what's currently out. Or even if they're watching an older show or movie I think it still offers up a good discussion regardless

I had a feeling this movie was in good hands from the start. As long as Disney were willing to let Fede Alvarez do it his way with no restrictions. He is an excellent director and knows how to produce horror movies at an exceptional level. I'm glad to see it looks like Disney didn't make him hold back.

Most streamer commercial breaks are determined by an algorithm based on several factors, and best place to cut to a commercial is not one of them. That’s why, even with shows that are available to stream that were designed to have commercial breaks, don’t have their current ad breaks at those pre planned breaks.

In the cost of streaming, you forgot to mention the cable (internet) cartels. On top of what I pay for streaming, add $70 a month to the cartel.

Not a Star Wars fan, so not invested in The Acolyte. Just happy Dafne Keen is in it and for God's sake Marvel where's the X-23 movie?
@bajansamurai5 ай бұрын
I'd get behind a movie where the same "Logan" universe X-23 (reprised by Keen) pays it forward by liberating the MCU's Logan from the clutches of Weapon X. How she gets there can either be because of a sentimental move by Deadpool, or reveal that she works with the "Days of Furure Past" Magneto for the same Illuminati that Wanda offed since their worlds were saved from Incursions (or ended).

I have no interest in the Star Wars property, the Force Awakens was the only movie I loved, didn't care for the two following or even the originals or the prequels. I did love the Mandalorian for the first couple of seasons. So I'm not really dying to watch the Acolyte but I loved the lead actress in Bodies! Bodies! Bodies!, I might tune in to see her for an episode or two and see if the show keeps my interest. On the topic of RDJ coming back to Iron-Man, I'm torn. Tony and Steve were the two characters I cared the most about but I also was the consequences of Endgame to stay permanent.

I saw the first two. And absolutely loved it. From what I understand by those who saw the first 4 that the 3 and 4 are super good. The character building is spectacular. The locations. Action. Only bad thing. There is some slow parts. But I liked them as well because we got alot of character building. It does have a few scenes that look cheaper. Dont disagree on that. But its not bad by any means.

My plan this year is to wait till House of the Dragon season 2 is almost over to subscribe to MAX and watch it all in one month then unsubscribe. Everyone of these streaming service is absolutely raising prices every year and it’s just not sustainable to lots of viewers. It’s all getting very expensive.

You'll just have to avoid spoilers for a few weeks, plus you won't be able to be part of the discussion while each episode comes out. For me, I'd much rather watch episodes every week.

Romulus looks like if Netflix made a new Alien movie it Just looks too clean! Yes it's taken elements of the original films but it just looks meh
@alexp6015 ай бұрын
I think the 'cleanness' of it might just be the high quality of the cameras and the general quality of modern films. It doesn't have the dirt and grit of the original, but that was back in the 70s. So it's going to look 'modern' even if it tries to mimic the feel of the original films.
@sprocket-YT5 ай бұрын
@@alexp601also even the cast look too clean cut it’s that Netflix or streaming feel nothing looks weathered or aged yes digital is probably also part of the problem. Hopefully it’s still enjoyable but I’ve got reservations

It may be just a misinterpretation of the question about financial incentives to play ads (thinking he meant just trailers), but I'd imagine they are like TV ad contracts where they make money by promising companies their ads will play before largest possible audiences. If theaters can claim X number of people are seeing a cola ad, or tax prep ad, then they continue to get paid to run those companies' ads. That may even be a premium price to play in front block busters and in the ideal highest occupancy hours of the day. If there's no big enough financial benefit to running the ads, they'd have to be the biggest idiots in existance to not realize 30+ minutes of ads are a turn off to moviegoers. The ideal setup would be: Showtime is 7, with 3 trailers before the feature begins, but theater is cleaned and seating is allowed at least 20 minutes before the stated showtime for anyone who likes early entry (or got through concessions early) so ads and featurettes are running while they wait. I know the problem is that it's less likely to have as many people opt into being so early in to see ads, but it's a bit more honest and respectful to the ticket buyer, and some may.
