My battle with pain began in 1973, it's worse today but I raised two kids as a single parent, worked until last year (I'm 67) and this story has helped me define the constant battle in useful terms - thanks.

Bravo nice. I’m sure your children love and respect your dedication and love. I find with chronic pain it’s the mental toll it takes after years. I’m lucky I have a good wife who has loved me for 37 years and still loves me. We have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Life is good even if we can’t wait till the day we don’t have constant pain. I hope you’re doing well and I applaud your hard work.

Mine started in ‘92 after a car accident. Doctors ignored my neck injuries and 4 damaged lumbar vertebrae (which I only found out about 2 years ago), they didn’t notice my ruptured bowel till 24 hours later when my organs started crashing and they had to do emergency surgery. I worked heavy physical jobs till two years ago. It’s not about pushing through for me, it’s just about accepting the pain for what it is.

Same here. Migraines since I was in middle school. Use to get stress migraines that affected my balance, sensitivity to light and smells and caused pins and needles to shoot up my arms. Still get regular migraines about once a month, use to get them two or three a month.

I have pushed beyond pain and boundaries. When I first started exercising using a treadmill I would stop when my knees would start burning or when I get that stitch on my side. But then I was advised to endure the pain and feel the burn to push right through it. Once I pushed past the burning knees I was able to use the treadmill for a longer duration. And once I pushed past the stitch on my side I never got it again.

I dont have high pain tolerance. Dislocated facet-joint wich lets the disc bulge out and press on the nerve breaks me every time I sneeze. :(

Feeling a bit guilty at this moment. I too suffer from chronic pain in more areas than I can count as does my husband. Unfortunately though, I do a whole lot of bitching. Haven't learned yet how to keep my mouth shut. Or as the old adage says "grin and bear it". Thanks for the understanding and also enlightment. This soldier gives me something to aspire to. Extremely well done!

I've had monthly stomach cramps since puberty. I work through them. I ignore my arthritis at work. I take Midol and Aleve and use CBD pain cream to get me through.

Forgive the question, but when you bitch about it, do you just stop doing everything? Have you stopped doing everything since it all started for you? Or have you kept going anyway? Have you kept getting up in the morning in whatever capacity you can, moving forward with your life, cursing, swearing and bitching about it as you do? If you have taken even one figurine step forward with your life, even the smallest thing, then you aren't giving in, you're using whatever strategies you can to let that pain know that it isn't going to stop you. And I hope that you can give yourself some credit for that because you sure as hell deserve it! Much love and peace to you ❤❤

I am one of them too. I have a spinal injury and they did surgery on it and it didn't Help. Even though the Doctor told me it would help. Which? It did not help.
