The biggest thing with astrology is that its kind of a misconception that its "because of the planets." Human beings are really good at pattern recognition, so millennia ago astrology was used more like a calendar to track things like best planting/harvest days. Horoscopes are fairly new ( I think still less than 100 years?) and are an overgeneralization. Think of astrology more as a jumping off point for recognizing patterns in people's lives instead of the sole reasoning for why certain things happen. For instance, Sean has his moon in cancer which is often associated with musical talent and he just so happens to have an interest related to that!
@sammiewoods258 Жыл бұрын
Antler fuzz is called "Velvet" and is a living tissue that covers the antlers while they grow! Eventually the circulation to the velvet cuts off, the tissue dries and falls off, usually after the deer rubs it away on a tree. Mid-velvet shed, the deer look kinda funny because they just have this fleshy stuff hanging off their heads in peices. Super cool stuff

Speaking of molting, I had this weird dream one time like eight years ago while I was still in school that I remember vividly to this day. In it, a radioactive meteorite hit our school. Because it was radioactive, they put like a huge fumigation tent over the entire campus. We were there for months and months and months. Due to the radiation, we mutated. We begin to molt our skin. They made us go to the science labs to do it, and took it away supposedly to dispose of it. After months, me and a few of my friends realize that a supply drop hadn’t come by in a few weeks. So, we started to wonder how we’re getting food and supplies After curfew one night, we sneak out of our rooms and we go to check. What we found, was that they were blending up our molted skin and feeding it to us. So yeah. This is always the first thing I think of when I hear the word molting. I have all sorts of wild ass dreams. This just so happened to be one that I had to write in a dream journal for psychology class though; my teacher was mortified. 💀

50:00 The reason why we have leap years is to keep the calendar aligned with the seasons (which is important especially for agriculture, but also for any kind of season-dependent activity). We define a day as the time it takes for the Earth to rotate once on its axis, and a year as the time it takes the Earth to orbit the sun (365.24 days). However, earlier calendars had a year of 365 days, which was first corrected by the Julian calendar (and later on by the Gregorian calendar) once they realized the years were not properly aligning with the seasons (and to compensate for that 0.24 day lag, our current calendar adds an extra day (roughly) every 4 years).

Honestly talking to grandparents can reveal so much. I learned about different conditions most of the women on my maternal side have (no surprise, i have them too), but also just more about our family history. My grandma used to tell me stories before bed about all of the things my mom and her sisters got up to as kids growing up in germany. Im a little heartbroken because i had some of my grandma's stories written and illustrated (we both paint and worked on it together) but it was destroyed in a fire about a year ago.
