specifically, its garland for birds. You dress up outdoors pine trees with garland made of popcorn and cranberries to feed the birds.

​@matts7950 OHHH *THATS* why I never understood those garlands,, I'd never seen them irl & only in cartoons & movies where they were on tree's indoors so I never understood why so much effort was put into stringing a garland of edible products when it would just sit on the tree until the tree died/was put back in storage so it would get gross but knowing that they're intended to go outside makes so much sense! Honestly quite cute

The Christmas pickle ornament is actually a German tradition! They hide the pickle in the tree, and the first child to find it on Christmas day gets an extra present

If i had to guess, the "redhots" are actually cranberries. In theme with the xmas puzzles, they are meant to be tree garlands, and i believe i have had exposure to cranberry/popcorn garlands in associated media even if i never made one myself.
