It seems like the game giving the exact number of rails for the solution was occasionally a bigger hint than was probably needed. It would be interesting if some of the future puzzles gave you extra rails to remove that bit of information or otherwise mislead you into thinking the solution was more involved than it needed to be.

Unfortunately it’s harder to do so as sometimes just a single track more would open up a lot of solutions. Not saying it’s impossible, just harder.

Well there are some achievements in the game for being able to come up with a solution using fewer rails than the dev intended method

@@randomnobody660 probably about 50/50. They had a few levels where they knew of a simpler solution but gave extra rail because maybe that one would be too hard for some players, but they also knew that no matter much they tested the internet would find ones they missed

I like that the final solution was the exact same as your first attempt, just with the extra loop in the bottom right. Not sure how long it took from start to finish but looking back and seeing how close you were at the start definitely shows your logic was on point the whole time just needed a nudge.

The problem I see there are too few degrees of freedom. You can basically guess most answers. Unless the maps get really, really big, this game has very little space to grow. Edit: The last one didn't follow the rule, I am excited of what will come.

in the next video you should go back to level 4-5 and optimize it! theres a solution that leaves 2 tracks leftover. I accidentally found it when replaying the game and on mobile, you even get an achievement for it!

I've been playing this game lately (on world 6 rn) and I think its biggest problems are a) the rail count almost always being a clue, and similarly b) the fact that most of the rail placements are "mandatory" ie you pretty much have to place one next to each pre-built track. B could be solved by fixing problem C which is the lack of "red herrings", you can almost always assume that both directions of a switch track will be used, each tunnel will be used, etc. i think the game should embrace dead ends that dont get used more, but hopefully it will in the later levels.

Hi Tyler! have you tried counting the spaces it would take for the train cars to get to where they are going? I think it would help in situations like the last puzzle where you seem to be brute-forcing the answer when you could use the logic tricks in tandem with what seems to be a more linear thought process.

He should be challenging himself to not guess and only start the trains if he really thinks it's going to work. In fact the game should be incentivizing that in some way. Placing tracks and arbitrarily changing around the bends shouldn't be an effective strategy, and yet it is.

the shitshow really was a shitshow.... on chat end. They vote kicked mario kart 8 (like, who cares) and also quiplash (should have been stream on a different day ngl), immediately did the ultrakill community thing of constantly mentioning the fact that you can punch your shotgun pellets before tyler even faced a projectile throwing enemy among other things that perpetuate the cycle of making the first couple of levels even weirder balance wise than they are already are, the entire chat saying that the stream was just 10 hours of frog fraction and bug ****, hollow knight fans losing their mind for the rest of the stream at the marbles (same could be said about ultrakill), chat saying about grabbing bullets in superhot and that's just the stuff I'm reminded. Like tyler was totally fine but the twitch chat was a complete shitshow that I wish I could delete from my memory. (Edit: I like games, just not the chat itself)

It still relies too much on parity and TIMING, especially with the introduction of switch tracks, which makes it so much harder to visualize. I don't know if there will ever be an easier or more logical tricks to approach these kind of puzzles. Tyler did his best here.
